I don't know...I can't know what someone else's walk with God is truly like that they would take desperate measures to be with Him and a way out of their situation.

I've known plenty of suicidal people, my country has a very high suicide rate. Maybe one of the highest. I've been to a suicide funeral. I've been to mental hospitals were people sabotage their own lives because they just can't deal or cope with reality.
I've seen prolonged suffering that makes people want to die but they can't.

I used to be sort of anti-euthanasia because I was young and naive and wanted a chance at life, but what do you do when you are older, ill and suffering, with nothing left to live for?

Maybe the afterlife is better, it may not be heaven if you don't believe, but it at least it is better than this life on earth. Our days are on earth are finite, and they don't always end the way we think. Maybe each of us has an expiry date and we can't know it until we've reckoned with God how much pain we can take. I'm sure Jesus didn't want to die young. But he had a life sentence and it was out of his hands anyway.

What about Judas. Well he may not have repented or asked for forgiveness, but he was remorseful and couldn't live with himself after knowing what happened to Jesus. He blamed himself.

I think some situations are so horrible that a person who becomes a Christian just wants to come home to God.

I don't think they will go to hell for that one sin. For them to lose their salvation, they have to willfully stop following Jesus, which is not what they're doing when they kill themselves to get out of their horrible situation.

I think God would wish they have stuck it out down here and learn to be strong in Him, but I think He would also comfort them, knowing what they went through.

Bottom line, God doesn't want us to commit suicide, but a Christian won't go to hell for that one sin - only if they went totally apostate.

I think you make some fair points. I feel it’s more of a possibility to go. But like you said a believer that has lived true and done there best probably still has a chance to go to heaven. I don’t like to ponder too much on these things. For god is the true decision maker. We as humans really don’t know or have any idea who will or won’t. I would hope those in pure pain and left with know choice would. But a person like hitler . I’m highly doubtful. Now if we do read our bibles… it also says god knows the heart. The heart no man can see. So it’s really possible even Hitler in his last days found god. Maybe if he had lived his days out fully until he was killed naturally… maybe god could have spared him. The truth is we never really know nor will we until we meet our own maker.

I bookmarked This Message because it clearly explains why some go to Heaven and others Hell. He also answers the question of, what about a child of God who commits a really BIG sin? It's surprisingly brief.
I'm interested in what your thoughts are when you get a chance to listen.
It's late so I'm ready to go off the air now.

I recently came across online videos about people taking their own lives due constant bullying, depression and etc. And I was just wondering, were does one's soul go to after committing suicide?

Suicide is a sin.. But if one is a true Christian and is covered by the Atoning blood of the LORD Jesus then ones sins shall be forgiven and they will be with the LORD Jesus forever more..

Can you imagine if Hitler repented and got saved before he committed suicide?!?? 🤯

I heard Jeffrey Dahmer got saved. Good on him! I read a few articles about his life when he was young. I think his thought life was tortured, so if he really is saved, it's nice that he got set free of that.

Of pondered this question many times all the way back to childhood I've had the thoughts as an adolescent and into adulthood twice since 2024. The last time I had these thoughts and was on the brink I just kept thinking okay so what's next what's next I didn't know and I'm glad I didn't find out. My father owned the funeral home and I used to go and help him and when I hated most was going to go get the suicides I think that if people could see the mess that they leave and other people knowing that they did that to themselves it really troubled me a lot but what I was going to say if I think if they could see the mess that they're leaving they probably wouldn't do it. If things are so bad you can't bear it and I understand that every situation is different there are things that people are going through that are absolutely horrific and I can't imagine someone suffering that much and then going ahead and taking their own life I can't imagine why they would go to hell but then that's not for me to decide I just hope that anyone having these thoughts would reach out to God and hang on to him for dear life because I think that everyone's life is dear to him.

There was a time I was going through severe chastisement for something I did that deserved such punishment. I seriously wanted to commit suicide, but before it all started, God promised me He'd come back and heal our fellowship. So this simple verse kept me from committing suicide:

Psalm 119:50
My comfort in my suffering is this:
Your promise preserves my life.
