Listening to Metallica

Looking through my mp3 player, it's 100% secular music. Mostly 90s alternative, classic rock, and rockabilly/horror surf music.
This has gotten me grief from Christians over the years. Has that stopped me from listening to my choice music? No. I listen to it more lol.

A lot of Christians say interesting things but you have already forgiven them.
A lot of times it has to be their way or the highway while they're condemning you to Hell for something they don't like while saying stuff like "I'm saved even if i kill somebody".
So enjoy the music, forgive the confused and be grateful to God for everything in this Earth including hearing the music, smelling the flowers, tasting the food, enjoying the beautiful sights of nature and everything else in-between.

When you know the difference between addiction and gratefulness there's nothing in this Earth that should shake you.

I grew up listening to classic hits on the radio riding in the car with my Dad, and occasionally the top modern tunes form the radio station my mom had hers set to. I'm also mainly influenced by sound tracks of video games.
In my teens I listened to Pink Floyd and felt a strong resonation with 'The Wall' and 'Wish you were here'.
I haven't begun to listen to explicitly Christian music until very lately, but the way I was before had nothing againt my love for the word of God.

When you know that God forgives you, and there is nothing made that hasn't been made through Christ, satans deceit within a lot of things simply perishes, and with your spirit you can make the parts of anything that fascinates you into something Holy.

I don't even really mind the lyrics of alot of music, I create imaginary scenes based on the sounds.

I think an underrated genre for Christians in general is just plain symphony; and any other tune that doesn't have lyrics, like video game soundtracks. Instead of being fed the words of another man, you get to meditate up something new from your own spirit.

check the lyrics of every tune. metallica may be serving the devil, i don't know. back in 1990, i wasn't a Christian until 2 years later, i threw out all my records that i knew were on the evil side. once, i saw acdc playing to an outdoor crowd at a huge stadium & i saw the devil's horns up top each speaker column!! that did it for me, no more acdc. plus, other bands, i won't listen too. sometimes i'll check out a band that's metal or hard rock just to listen to the extreme virtuosity & talent of the musicians. remember that the devil was the boss of music & he uses music super big time to sway people.

when someone says he or she believes in a higher power, it means zilch if the higher power isn't God. if people believe in God, why don't they freely say, "i believe in God"?

I also listen to metal because I enjoy a good guitar riff. I don't think there is a better riff than the one in "Kashmir". That one may be the greatest ever!

A lot of what I listen to now comes from sound garden, pearl jam, and a few others from the 90s. My current favorites are " Even Flow by Pearl Jam" and "Spoon man by Sound garden".

the story is nearly everyone in the band except john paul jones, signed a pact with the devil to become famous. remember the old "crossroads" story? mississippi delta area, 1930's. musicians used to go there to sign with the devil to become famous & rich. robert johnson is most famous for this act. the devil will tune your guitar then give you extraordinary talent to play. jimmy page established an interest in the occult while studying the teachings of aliester crowley. then later, supposedly, they signed again to become more famous. some of their tunes certainly seem devil related.

no one knows except zeppelin. they never made any public statement about their lyrics to keep everyone wondering. twas great strategy to keep people in interest. sure, they have seemingly Godly messages & evil messages. plant's "fate of nations" (1993), album has many seemingly Godly lyrics.
