I just watched Love and other drugs (the movie) yesterday. It might have nudity and sex, but the thing that really got to me was that the guy was in love with some one who had early onset Parkinson's disease. My ex-boyfriend had very mild Cerebral Palsy and except for a few tremours and very slight limp no one would know that he had CP. I knew very well that if I had decided to live my life with him, things would have been extremely tough in the future. People with CP have a sucky quality of life in their old age. I am ashamed to admit it, but that certainly made me wonder sometimes if I should be with him. I didn't break up with him for that reason though. I broke up with him because he was a hardcore atheist and often made fun of my faith. I probably cried during all of the movie because it is so hard to see some one you love suffering
My question is, Would you fall in love or be with someone who had an incurable but non-fatal disease? Or someone handicapped? What does the bible say about this?
