I have a Cambridge Clarion in NKJV and absolutely love it. My issue is I don't want to toss my $125 bible in my travel bag when going on a trip or something. I have been trying to find a "cheaper" soft cover NKJV bible, but that still has sewn pages, but have not had any luck. Hoping somebody might be able to point me towards a <$75 bible with sewn pages. I saw that Cambridge used to make a synthetic bound, with sewn pages, but I think they discontinued it as it is not shown on their website.

For novels I use an iPad/laptop app but I just prefer a real book in my hand when reading the bible. If I can't find a nice travel bible then I will have to decide to either risk my Clarion or just us an app, Olivetree and e-Sword.

P.S. I mentioned the translation not to get into a discussion on translations but because I know some publishers, such as Holman and Crossway have what I am looking for except they only sell specific translations, and not NKJV.

P.P.S. If the printing is not done in China that would be a huge bonus too.

I paid a 185 for my Cambridge Black Letter Edition with wide margins and Berkshire Leather and have carried in 6 times in my luggage to Australia and back...114,000 miles HAHAH

I went to buy a new one in AU as I have started super gluing my pages in from being worn out and the new one was almost $400 AU dollars.....maybe $300 American.....wow....

But I do love my Cambridge....

A particular reason why it must have sewn pages?

Have you tried looking in second- hand shops? Maybe ask the owner to keep an eye out if something appears?

Yeah, but it is worth it...I bought a cheap one first...wore it out in two years, had it rebound and wore it out in another two years....paid the 185 in 1995 and still use it to this day....but have worn it out and super glue pages in regularly HAH

I want the sewn pages for the durability and the lay flat factor.

I have not but that is something I was thinking about. The one closest to my house closed last year but I'm sure there are others around town.

23 yrs and 114,000 miles, I'd say you got your $185 worth. $8.04/yr or $.002/mile. And that is just looking at it as if it were a typical object, which we all know it is not.
