The $64000 question is who does the pronoun "whom" is referring to.?

A question that many would rather gloss over?

Who are the predestined?

Those who obey the Gospel call or simply people picked by God without a way for us to know His reasoning for whom He chooses?
Those he foreknew; based upon God's foreknowledge. He already knows everything, including who ultimately will be saved and lost simply by his foreknowledge, so, he predestined those he knew in advance would ultimately be saved.

I can't put a price tag on that, or gamble who the predestined are.

I know who the predestined are.

Those are the people who all passed the test when God layed his messages on there hearts.

That would be the day when you heard a messages and did the right thing.

That would be the day God spoke to you from a distant past.

That would be the day God said today you can rule over sin from a distant past time of his which is now alive in your present time.

That's the freedom you have and the only freedom you have is God knows the future because without that freedom and life and piece of mind, where would you be.

No, please provide the Bible verses that back up your claim.

This forum is getting sloppy about defending their positions. 😞

The word predestined means Gods knows who are going to be saved before there born.

For me it's that's simple, and for me I see many instance where God spoke to people in there present time.

Well seeing as he knew who would pass the test. It's only fair and most logical that he spoke that message in a time that's distant to ours but also alive in our time at the same time.

This being the most convincing truth to me. Believer names are written in the book of life before the world was created and I'm so happy that they are.
Because that mean I have an glorious God able to do glorious wonders in my life

They got it all screwed up.

God predestines whom?
Those whom He had chosen before the foundation of the earth...
To BE THE BRIDE OF CHRIST!

Ephesians 1:4 states that God chose believers in Christ before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight, emphasizing the concept of divine election and the importance of love in this calling. This verse highlights God's sovereign will and purpose for those who believe.

Keep in mind.
Not all believers are the Church!
Not all believers are to be the Bride of Christ!

God predestined us by determining when in history we were to be born!
If you were born in the age of Israel?
You would have not become the Bride of Christ when you believed.

Grace and peace!

This is a word definition. Not Bible verses. List the Bible verses that back up your case.

Predestined?
Is simply that!

God predestined that Hitler would be alive and reign like he did for the time in history God destined him for!

Look at Revelation!
God has predestined the Beast Dictator and the Antichrist to be living then!

Predestination means just that.
What is it we have been predestined for?

To be the Bride of Christ when we believe!

This does not address the question.

You are simply stating that God predestines the predestined.

Who is "they"?

"They" are the ones I was pointing at who were defining "predestination" as they had.

'Predestination'
does not mean God predetermines how one is going to think.
God is sovereign, but He designed man in His image, not to be a puppet.

Predestination is God taking someone whom God knows how they want to think.
And placing them into history at a point in time, to make a point God wants to be understood.

What is "that"?

You really need to slow down with the pronouns and explain your answers clearly.

I did cite examples...

But?
Using you as an example?

God, knowing how you would choose to think, destined you to be born and alive at this time.
To say God made you believe in Christ, as your destiny?
It is a distortion, and the ploy used by the TULIP advocates.

This does not address the question.

You are simply stating that God predestines the predestined.

You miss so much of the other things I said, and end up asking questions as a result.

I will try this....

Did God predestine Moses to be in the Church?

I will be in the minority here.

I asked AI whether the context of Romans 2-11 would force Romans 8:29 to be about the Jews?

Romans 8:29
For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren.

Has to be the Jews because that is whom Paul is talking about, the covenant people of Israel.

Otherwise, chapters two through to chapter eleven would make no sense.

You’ve touched on something important: keeping Romans in its own context. Let’s take this step by step.
1. A simple summary of Romans 2–11 (within Romans itself)
If we read Romans 2–11 as a continuous flow, it does indeed deal heavily with Israel’s failure and God’s purpose in saving a remnant:
  • Romans 2–3 – Both Jews and Gentiles are under sin. Israel, though possessing the law, has failed to keep it, so their privilege doesn’t shield them from judgment. Righteousness comes only through faith.
  • Romans 4–5 – Abraham is the model: he was justified by faith before circumcision or law. Thus, Gentiles who believe are also children of Abraham.
  • Romans 6–7 – Paul shows that life under the law brings slavery to sin and death. Israel’s failure is tied to the law’s inability to produce righteousness.
  • Romans 8 – New life comes through the Spirit. Those who belong to Christ are set free from condemnation. This chapter also transitions into the problem of Israel’s unbelief.
  • Romans 9–11 – The heart of the Israel question:
    • Israel pursued righteousness by law, not by faith, and stumbled at Christ (9).
    • Yet God has not rejected His people entirely. A remnant is saved (10).
    • Israel’s stumbling opened the door for Gentiles. In the end, God will gather in the fullness of Gentiles and a remnant of Israel (11).
Simple thread: Israel failed because they sought righteousness through law, not faith. Only a remnant will be saved, showing God’s mercy and plan to bring salvation also to the Gentiles.
2. Does this force Romans 8:29 (“those whom He foreknew”) to refer to Israel?
Romans 8:29 says:
“For those whom He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son…”
The word foreknew (προέγνω) is key. In the immediate flow:
  • Romans 8:28–30 is part of Paul’s assurance to believers (both Jew and Gentile) that God’s purpose cannot fail.
  • But in Romans 9–11, Paul explicitly ties the word “foreknew” to Israel:
“God has not rejected His people whom He foreknew” (Romans 11:2).
So within Romans, foreknowledge language is used both:
  • Broadly (for all believers in Christ, Romans 8:29), and
  • Specifically (for Israel as God’s historically chosen people, Romans 11:2).
That means Romans 8:29 could indeed echo the corporate election of Israel as those God “foreknew,” but Paul is also using it to assure all believers of God’s eternal purpose in Christ.
✅ So, yes: If we restrict ourselves to Romans, the overarching context from chapters 2–11 is Israel’s failure, the remnant, and God’s ongoing plan. And Romans 8:29’s “foreknew” does at least lean toward Israel in that context—though Paul also widens it to include all who are in Christ (Jews and Gentiles alike).

Did God predestine Moses to be in the Church?
There is confusion because you are not addressing the question.

Instead of asking about Moses and the church how about just answering the earlier question.

"I will try this...." is not helpful.

Just answer the question.

Who are the predestined?

Answering the predestined are those who God predestined is not a answer.

Give me chapter and verse that pertains to the specific 'predestined' you asked about.
