The thief on the cross did not get physically baptized by John's or any other.

We need to righty divide the word.
When the thief on the cross died, he died OT laws. Where people had to take a sacrifice to the high priests ones a year to have their sins forgiven GOD RULES.
JESUS is our high priest and he became our sacrifice our lamb.
When JESUS was on this earth and forgave sins as he wished like the thief.
JESUS preach app 3 years, died on the cross, buried and rose again. Then he ascended to Heaven to put his blood on the mercy seat.
Hebrews 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
He then returned to earth and was here app 40 days and ascended again commanding his disciples to wait because they will be filled with the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:4-5
He ascended the second time and this was the first message of how to be reborn.
Acts 2:38-39
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Since then until he returns again, we live in NT laws and how to be saved we need to repent, get baptized in JESUS name to get rid of our sins and receive the Holy Ghost like JESUS gave his disciples in Acts 2:4.
This thread was once about lost of salvation and it is not any more. It is about the bible praise GOD. So 149 pages and what have I learned. Can I take some posts and apply them to myself? Seems I can be ignorant and do not know His word, don't study enough I can oddly just ignore what someone posts and keep talking as if they said nothing. I wonder in these small things we say for I have at least thought them. I wonder when I blindly say it or just think it.. does Christ see hear it as if I am saying to Him?

I read being baptized.. I personally do not believe anyone needs to be baptized to be saved yet again I personally believe its written repent.. be baptized "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." Did Jesus baptize? I know John the B did but Christ did with the holy Spirit yes I know the other verses yet it does not for me clearly say and no offense to anyone I don't care. HAHA if I was there? JOHN Baptize me! Jesus.. give me the holy spirit.
Gifts.. yeah don't always wonder out of all the gift (oh thank you holy Spirit) tongues it hit the most. Paul knew what was going on in that Church.. I can't ignore "I wish you all spoke in tongues" <-- this is one Greek org translation. I'm looking at my book here says verse 5 1st Cor 14 "I want now all you to speak with tongues, rather but that you should prophesy" so Paul establishing the good of tongues but the greater good of prophecy" So we know the one the prophesizes is giving a message that can be understood is of greater value to the Church then the speak er in tongues unless there is an interpretation. One trans says wish the other want. So was it just Paul some Jewish Christian wants, wishes we all believers speak in tongues or was it really the Holy Spirit? Hmm
I just happen to see this video yesterday shows a some professor one side of the table was a black man the other side white man. A ball was between them The black man saw a black ball the professor asked the white guy what do you see he says a white ball. Both men start to get upset so the professor told them to switch places. Half the ball was white the other black. Short is he said try to put your self in the other persons shoes. Each one knew they were right. Not the best but.. I like it.

Peter knew HOW TO BE REBORN, so after they received the Holy Ghost like Peter did in Acts 2:4 HE KNEW THEY HAD TO BE BAPTIZED, SO HE COMMANDED THEM TO BE.

actually, the scripture gives seven examples:
Woman was reborn as Eve, no water baptism
Abram was reborn as Abraham, no water baptism
Sarai was reborn as Sarah, no water baptism
Jacob was reborn as Israel, no water baptism
Hoshea was reborn as Joshua, no water baptism
Solomon was reborn as Jedediah, no water baptism
Cephas was reborn as Peter, no record of water baptism
God was manifest in the flesh, and gave Himself as an atonement for our sins, so that whoever believes in Him will be saved - removing our sin in a single hour.
that He rose the third day and returned to heaven, and that He will return again to judge the quick and the dead, and make all things new.
that whoever believes has eternal life and will not come under judgment, but whoever does not, is condemned already, because they have not believed.

but i don't think you have noticed that it's saying Cornelius had already been reborn before Peter even came to talk to him, obviously before he was baptized.
so you've just given a Biblical example of being reborn that had everything to do with faith and nothing whatsoever to do with being immersed in H2O.

Then how did believers understand the things of God prior to Pentecost? This was the whole point of Jesus' discussion with Nicodemus. If you want to understand spiritual matters you must be born again. An OT prophet could not prophesy unless he was born again. If one is not born again one is utterly incapable of hearing God. Again,in big letters so you can see it.

Yes because he had forgotten what Christ told him before his Ascension. He didn't remember until after the Cornelius incident. We've been through this so many times already. Acts 11:16
And once again they are not being reborn, they are being baptized. Being made spiritually alive (rebirth) and being placed in Christ (baptism) are two different and distinct events. Being placed in Christ never occurred before Pentecost but being reborn occurred whenever someone believed in the Lord God. It's how they could hear/see Him. Without a rebirth, God (the True God), is nonsense to people. (1Cor.2:14) I have shown you these scriptures time and time again, when will you take them to heart and learn what they mean?
Then you have no understanding of God because that is what theology is in a nutshell. It's the study of God, who He is, what He has done, His relationship to His creation etc and our expression of that study.
You confuse regeneration and rebirth, you insist there are two baptisms, you think water can take away your sin when only the Lamb of God can do that. These are elemental doctrines and you get them wrong and I'm not the only one telling you.
