God is Love, but, past that, there is something about 'love' that defies description, until now, my Christ peeps., for now......


....you get to describe it,, metaphorically, simily, or,, since, yeeah, gotta give Nods credit for this thread by her 'Love is a ' bottom part of her post, you are free to use friendly irony :D

Love is PATIENT.. Love is KIND ... it doesn't envy nor boast. LOVE COVERS A MULTITUDE OF SINS. LOVE = GOD. ..... GOD IS LOVE :)

Love is saying you will go places you don't want to go, like shopping :eek:

Love is eating his/her bad cooking and loving it

Love is like wax dripping onto your finger, hot,, then warm, then cool, then, it solidifies, encrusted, protective on your fingertip yet delicate and can easily crumble off if not careful.

Love is playing a board game or sports game (1 on 1 basketball, for example) with your kids/ nephews/nieces and playing really hard and competitive and they never know you let them win.

Love is Christ dying on the cross for everyone though He really (literal) didn't need to die a deathly, horrible, humiliating, mockery of a torture for anyone.

Love is listening patiently to/defending/explaining to/praying for/encouraging others who whine/cry/demand/pitch fits/blame others/wallow in self pity/criticize/judge/bark/lie/twist truth/falsely accuse, who think everyone else should be flowery/huggie/kissie/perfect little christians who never have a bad day.

Love is hearing:

"Mom, you know everything."
"Mom, you're my angel from God."
"Mommy, I love you forever!"

Love is raising children for God's glory. :)

If then there is any encouragement in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by thinking the same way, having the same love, sharing the same feelings, focusing on one goal. 1) laying down our life for the brethren (I John 3:16b)
2) Covering a multitude of sins (I Peter 4:8)/ all sins (Proverbs 10:12). For truely Jesus' love covered all my sins
3) Jesus sacrifice (John 15:13; I John 3:16a)
 
Love is trying to make the other person happier than they make you. That may or may not include going shopping when you really hate it or eating burnt spaghetti and saying you love it. ;)

Love is sweet smiles and sticky kisses from your kids (or in my casee, nieces/nephews/cousins) when they tell you they love you.
