I need some serious help! For as long as I can remember, I have fallen to lust..movie, women, or just with my eyes. I know this is not what God has plan for my life. This has been a real struggle in my life. I really don't enjoy it. I get depressed every time it happens. I sit in my dark room angry at myself. I tell myself that it will never happen again but then it happens again. My life is fallen apart. I have been through two failed marriages and I really believe that this was part of the reason. I cheated on both wives. Who am I? I feel like, NOT a bad person. But I continue to let this horrific sin rule over my life. I'm tire of leaving a lie! I want so bad to follow the path that God has set for me. How do I....find the strength to stop all this madness? How do I...get the courage to leave the past in the past? Please ....Please pray for me, I'm lost in the darkness!

The Lord God has heard your cry. You have taken an enormous step in your healing by recognizing that this sin is destructive, in fact all sin is destructive. All sin will destroy the human being from the inside out. What is the opposite of sin? Righteousness is!. Is it our righteousness? No. Lord God said there are none righteous not one. So then what could we do?

John 15:5
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

If Jesus is the vine, and we cannot bear fruit apart from Him..How can we abide in Him?

Ephesians 6:10-18

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,[a] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—

Galatians 5:16

16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

So then, when we apply the whole armor of God we are truly walking in the spirit. Since sin clearly begins in the heart and the mind.. how are we gonna know if we are walking in the spirit? What will be the proof

Galatians 5:22-23

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.



To tell you the truth, I have struggled with this sin myself before many times. And i've come to the conclusion that we can't break this stronghold alone. What NEEDS to be done is a complete submission to God in prayer, in scripture and a decision to completely leave behind anything that will cause you to lust from reaching your eyes through the t.v. , computer etc. Also, just as we willingly choose to walk somewhere, so we also consciously make the decision to look upon a woman. We are completely responsible for doing so. But if we are not controlled by the Holy Spirit, it will be useless to try to stop on our own.

Romans 12

Living Sacrifices to God

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
 
I pray this might be of some help to you. First write down everything you think about yourself. who you think you are. Then write down everything God says you are. Then stop and look at the differances between the two. Self-unforgiveness and self-hatred will destroy all relationships, even the relationship you have with yourself. You need to focus on what God see's in you. Remember that God will forgive you and because of that you should first forgive yourself. Write reminders of what God see's in you and what his promises are for you. put them in places you regularly look at: the mirror, computer, desk, refigerator, ect. I hope this helps you, if not right now then sometime in the future.
 
Thank God parkerlp, It's His word not mine. Glory be to Him and I know that if you remain in Him He'll remain in you. I pray He does and I pray that He gives peace to your heart through His promises. This life is a vapor compared to the eternity that awaits to those who love Him and keep His commands.

Sup, bro... In order for us to live a life with God, we must lay it down before Him so that He can make us perfect. You see, alone, no matter how hard we try, we can never be perfect/holy, we need God to make us Holy/perfect, and that can only happen if we choose to surrender Everything to Him through prayer and confession. Only then can we be truely free from all sin and death, when we choose to let Him have His way in our lives. God bless
 
Through my suffering God you have shown me that there is death in these actions i choose and continue to choose, help me O lord, help me to see how far from you i make myself. Help me to slaughter these demons while they are still infant temptation, allow me to cut them down with the sword of truth when the Slanderer, Satan, just has suggested them to me. Help me O Lord to see that sex is the work of God, and must be kept holy by respect, because through it we participate in creation. Help me to remember when the advertisements pummel my mind with sexual images. O Lord help me to fight these dragons that burn me and choke me with smoke, clear the sky so i can see.
