For some reason I'm reminded of a video game called Arcanum. In the game you can either be a magician or a mechanic, and magic and science are directly opposed in the game. Each dampens and distorts the other, such that the town mage is upset over the town's new steam engine because the presence of science hinders his magic, and a powerful magician can't ride the train because his very presence could make the train engine explode.

As to which came first, magic and science have both been around for a long, long time.

Science - I observe the way the world works and try to figure out what makes it work.
Magic - I use power beyond my normal human abilities to try to affect the way the world works.

After Eden Adam needed to use his brain along with his muscles to get anything to grow so he would have food. You can't just do gardening haphazardly and get the results you want. One could claim science began with Adam.

Question: Does "magic" include what God does? All magic has to have a source of power. The allure of "magic" as the world knows it is, the magician seems to have control over the magic, where God's miracles are solely at God's choice instead of the human's.

If we count God's actions as magic, magic predates science. If we count only the magic which comes from (ahem) other power sources, it can be argued that science predates magic.
