I'm not sure if I've ever heard either quoted outside of bible studies. I have heard people try to use other stuff in that section of the bible to somehow say men were always wearing pants though, as ridiculous as that is.
Just so you know, that passage is quoted a LOT by men trying to control women they are not married to (and even more by husbands to control their wives).

I'd be very careful about using it outside of a marriage context, and even within a marriage context it's not exactly something to wave around triumphantly. Jesus told the disciples not to rejoice that the demons were subject to them, yet somehow an awful lotta dudes think its OK to rejoice that their wife is. 🙄

I hear ya on the pants thing, whenever some bossy person says I should wear a dress I'm like "duuude, when the Bible was written, MEN were wearing skirts 🙄". With good reason, too... they're a lot more comfortable in summer heat. 😌👍

Anyways..... The pants thing does kinda illustrate how annoying it is to be told what God wants for you based solely off your gender, don't ya think? 😉

Side note: this is not an endorsement of cross-dressing. I do think current cultural norms come into play. If I lived before 1900 I probly wouldn't wear pants, would be too scandalous.

Anyways...definitely not picking on you here, I only bring this stuff up because you seem like the thoughtful sort of dude who might actually listen 😊.

Well it's not a commandment anyway. More of a General statement on the Typical way things are going to go from then on, men tend to dominate in politics and business, most women have pains in childbirth, farming is a labor intesive process as are many mens jobs, but it's not an absolute.

I try not to worry too much about cultural norms in dress since for one thing they're always changing and somewhat subjective, and I haven't found anything in the bible that specifically calls for following it.

Yes! Men really need to get back into those frocks and open-toed sandals... it was quite a good look for them, especially when they had a matching shawl!!!

Proclaiming the gospel and leadership (your title) are 2 different things. But to answer your question, of course not.
According to Jesus there are no leaders no rabbi either we have only one leader/teacher and that is Christ himself.

Looks like the poor guy got snowballed? 🤔

To be fair, that outfit could be very triggering to anyone who had beef with an orphanage headmaster in the early 1800s. 😜
Is that what that is? I thought it must have been the latest Dr. Who! ;) :)
