Some time ago I remember hearing this on the TV and thinking
thank you Jesus. Sorry can't remember what it was from now.

A man fell into a pit

A subjective person came along and said "I feel for you
in that pit."

An objective person came along and said "well it is
logical that someone would fall into that pit."

A Pharisee came along and said "only bad people
fall into pits."

A mathamatician came along and calculated how someone
fell into the pit.

A newspaper reporter wanted the exclusive story on the
person in the pit.

A fundamentalist said "you deserve that pit."

A calvenist said "if you had been saved you would
never have fallen into that pit."

An Armenian said "you were saved and you still fell
into that pit."

A charismatic said "just confess you are not in the pit."

A geologist came along and suggested the person should
appreciate the rock formation of the pit.

A tax officer wanted to know if the person had paid their
taxes for the pit.

A council worker wanted to know if the man in the
pit had applied for planning permission.

A self pitying person said "you have not see anything
until you have seen my pit."

An optimist said "things could be worse."

A pessimist said "things will get worse."

Jesus however, seeing the man, reached down
and got him out of the pit.

Psalm 40

(The above is just a but of tongue in cheek fun, not meant
to cause offence at any group of people. Sometime don't we
miss the obvious though, praise Jesus for his work of
salvation).

Obama would have remarked, "I thought I threw the man under a bus, not into a pit!"

I like this post, do you remember the name of the show you got that from?

Actually the story is told in many ways with different characters but usually always involving a pit, self works, and Jesus who does the true saving work.
