Michigan man who walks 21 miles to work given new car

A Michigan man who walks 21 miles to and from work each day was surprised with a new car at a local Ford dealership Friday.

"I really couldn't express how I'm feeling right now about this whole thing," James Robertson told Fox & Friends Saturday.

The Detroit Free Press last weekend told of Robertson's long hike to work everyday, something he has been doing for 10 years. Since that story, Robertson has now received a new car and an anonymous fund was started that has raised more than $300,000.

He was on F&F earlier in the week, too. Detroit banker Blake Pollock noticed Robertson several times walking along the route Pollock took to work, and he stopped on one particularly cold morning and asked if he would like a ride. Robertson accepted, and Pollock admitted he didn't think the ride would be all that interesting, but in talking to Robertson became quite impressed with him. He gave him several more rides, and The Free Press got the story from one of Pollock's co-workers.

From there, a college student started a GoFundMe account to raise money to buy Robertson a car. After the earlier F&F appearance, an additional $100,000 was raised, and today the fund stands at over $300,000. No one has said what will happen to the account now, but my guess? Robertson, Pollock, and the college student find a good way to use it.

By the way, Robertson started walking to work for an $11 an hour plastics company job after his old '88 Honda quit on him one winter morning. Amazing. Great story.

No doubt and shows how much he wanted to work as well.....A lot of people will drive around the Walmart parking lot for 10 minutes so they can get the spot closest to the door because they are to lazy to walk 50 yards.....guy has some intestinal fortitude for sure and good for him on the new car and the cash..............
