He was born there
in a dark cave out of Bethlehem
sleeping in a dirty manger
the baby that one day would become a King
was born in the poorest place
and only few humble shepherds
were witness of the most beautiful night
the most important birth of history
took place in very difficult conditions
No one clapped or shouted of joy in Jerusalem
No one announced it on the streets
No one shouted of joy
No concert or symphony was given on earth
His glorious birth was completely ignored
He was born there
in the very dirty manger of our heart
that tiny little baby
just decided to sleep within us
Our heart was not a decent home for a King
and deep embarrassment came to us
but He just decided to be born within us
and that tiny baby slept here
in a bed filled with wickedness and evil
No one clapped our new birth
No one announced it on the streets
No one shouted of joy
No tears of gladness were shed
when Jesus came to save our heart
Our new birth just came unannounced to the world
When Jesus should be in the most important magazines
displayed in the most important cinemas
remembered in the most important memorials
taught in the most prestigious universities and colleges
highlighted in the most important TV channels
sung as an anthem every morning in the most famous radio stations
is actually hidden as a bad joke
hidden and ridiculed by the media
laughed at in radio stations and movies
And we are not far from that
when Jesus came to us
suddenly our families don't understand us
our friends start leaving us
and our girlfriends and boyfriends dump us at the first moment
colleges and schools make our life a living hell
our new life seems to be a joke for the world
and very soon we start feeling lonely
and those places we used to linger the most
now are forbidden to us
But listen here the everlasting truth:
that tiny baby will return one day
as the Lords of Hosts and King of Kings
and the whole world will bow down before Him
and at last we are going to be glorified with Him
and our humiliation will be over forever
and the goats will be separated from the sheep
and that manger that was the issue of many laughter
will become a irrefutable proof in that day
and the final verdict will be this:
when I was hungry, you did not feed me
when I was in prison, you never visited me
when I was in need, you never answered
