Maybe it was the way he DIRECTLY declared that pretty much everyone on this site is not saved. How exactly did we misunderstand? Look at the title.
Or lets look at his other thread declaring if you aren't against homosexuality you are not saved. Thats not judgment? Wake up. You can't walk around making blanket statements against hundreds of people saying they are not Christians and say 'you misunderstand' or 'hes not judging'.
Also, i didn't pay much attention to the original poster of this thread. But since his posts went up i've noticed, hes only 21 first of all. Second of all, hes only been a Christian one year. How someone can be saved such a short time, yet be so self righteous as to start going around declaring who is and isn't saved, man, if his ego is that bad after a year, what will it be like in 5 years?
This seems to be something i'm noticing more. Young people, barely saved, stepping in and rather than being humble and teachable, figure they know it all, and begin trying to teach and correct seasoned Christians. They're still babies in their faith, and telling their spiritual elders whats right and true. I know its common for younger people to adopt that 'i know it all' mentality, but i remember myself at that age and i was usually quick to want to learn from people i knew had more training and time in their faith and the bible. I didn't walk around like God special chosen one.
Maybe thats because i grew up back when preachers still talked about things like faith, being a servant, humility, being a minister to others.. and how to respect and revere God not treat Him like my homeboy, buddy, pal, 'boyfriend', 'the big G', etc.. So much modern teaching is selfishness and sounds more like self help than the gospel.

this is a very nice post Brighthouse. I like this a lot and it is very much what i think the Bible says. While homosexuality is condemned by Our Lord, it is by no means the only sin in the wolrd and you are right that we all too were at one time in a ditch and we were shown lovew and mercy by Our Lord. Jesus died and bled to pay for that sin also and if someone thinks it is not a sin maybe they haven't learned that yet. The whole reason is to learn what God has said isnt it, so how do people know unless soemone loves them enogh to be kind and teach them - not to say sinning is o.k. to but to show why it isn't and htat Jesus makea a way to turn from it and do our best to live rightly.
I know a man who struggled for manyyears with strong drink but he was struggling and peopell didnt foreske him, they kept helping him and he overcame it and he sais that he couldn't have if they hadnt kept showing they loved him and showed him where Jesus loved him and what the Bible said. Thats how he learned and he said that he couldnt stop for years until he was helped so much for long enough to know.

Age does matter, because age has something you can't get except by getting older.... experience.
And while, yes, age is not the only factor in wisdom, age does matter in wisdom as well. Truth is still that on the average an older person will have more wisdom. And the best wisdom comes from experience. I'm not trying to put down younger people, but i'm seeing a LACK of wisdom in young people because they are not being humble and teachable.

I would only add this, if Revelations is a book concerning the END of times, and if the seven churches of the day represent or even reflect the churches of today, we clearly see the Jesus is calling them to repent, mainly for sexual immorality and false teachings and doctrines, and more importantly we see only a few from each church will be found worthy to wear the white robes, and finally we see the same thing mentioned over and over in Jesus's words "OVERCOME" He is calling to the churches to overcome the sinfulness of false teachings, overcome the sexual immorality, overcome all the evil practices of the Nicolaitions and doctrines of Balaam..............I would say if your not working in the direction of overcoming sinfulness as a general day to day practise, your in big trouble!

I'm sure most people here have come to GROW in their relationship with God,to SEEK truth,or to just BE God followers. Who cares if only a minority of people here are 'true Christians'.We're all here for similar reasons. Personally,I'm here to grow closer to God and to strengthen my faith.The majority of these,as you say, 'false' Christians may not actually be Christians but are seeking God. It shouldn't matter why we're here,just that we ARE here,spreading the Word or seeking it...And if you think I'm too young to say these things,or to even know anything about it,you're wrong. Age is nothing but a number.

It doesn't matter if they are or if they are not what is good is that they are here and God can use any of his children to reach out and touch the lost that find their way to this website by using one of his children.

You are talking to a very very aged broad here!! And yes, my age does mean something! What it means is time spent with God, and time spent studying. And learning. That really isn't age, it is an attitude. At 79, just ask me, I would explain that too much time listening to the OT meant a lack of faith is what Christ did for us. At 81 I could explain that a deep study of what God tells us in what we label OT is not old at all, but a foundation for understanding Christ. Maybe some learn and grow at 20, but you can't discount time spent at it.
This site is wonderful for helping us think through our personal walk with our Lord, and as we answer posts it helps us be clear in our mind just what God is telling each of us.
We have to remember that we aren’t to judge others, and we are to be able to tell right from wrong because we are to be able to judge angels.
This site is full of lessons on turning the other cheek. I have been told that my belief that God wants me to try to follow His law and ask for forgiveness when I fail, for instance, is bringing a curse on me from God! But when we look for the good, what inspiration we can find here!

I think that there are different kinds of ppl here and its the same in all the places and remind me this verses :
Matthew 13:36-43 "Then he left the crowd and went into the house. His disciples came to him and said, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field.”
He answered, “The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the people of the kingdom. The weeds are the people of the evil one, and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.
“As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. Whoever has ears, let them hear."
I don't think we can judge, like God can, about people on this site. We all, scripture tells us, see darkly while we live in this world, so none of us know God completely. Think what happened to Moses when he came face to face with God! his face was so transformed he had to wear a veil. What God forgives when we misunderstand is something only God can know. We do have forgiveness through Christ.
My pastor says that we must not get too deep in the OT, keep our eyes on Christ only. Our youth pastor says he has no time to even read the OT, and the young people he shepards can't understand it anyway. I think the OT shows us Christ more clearly and gives God principles and background for the NT, it is necessary. I think their understanding is wrong, yet what fruits for God I see in this church.

Timothy was young too!........it all depends on who trained you in the way of the truth, I think the original poster was more concerned about much of the misleading and false doctrines many christians hold onto and also teach here, for a young christian some of these erronious teachings are cleverly wrapped in truth but inwardly they are destructive. test everything you find here, the bible is the best guide and measure

Also though Jesus Christ Our Lord said hatred in the heart is murder, so maybe more of us are guilty of murder than just the Catholic Church if that is the one you meant anyways my point being that sin is from the heart and Jesus taught us that just because we didnt actually murder someone if we hated them or even anger without a cuase thats murdewr so i think we have all sinned sometimes.
Yes, if its not fruits of the Spirit its not where we should be. But i work sometimes at a place where people come off the streets and they are in much trouble and they are bearing a lot of bad fruit. But I'll let you in on a secret, that a few of the people who volonteer there from a Church which I wont mention and they are godly people who are obeying the command to Love Thy Neighbor but they sometimes gossip and other things, so I try to remember that none of us are perfect.

To say what the young brother is saying is unbiblical would be a lie! People do need to focus more on God then themselves. There are a few scriptures that makes reference to this statement. And to think you have a full understanding of all of God word, then you must be Jesus! How humble are we to jumped down on a 16 year old in correction, when the bible do speak of such. Maybe not in those exact words. But the bible do make reference to plank from your own eye. Often times many are quick to say someone else is not a Christian and they not baring fruit. Are we truly around that person all day everyday to make such a statement? And if so, you need to get outside more and share the gospel!

Revelation is not primarily a book about the end of times. it does cover the end of the world but it covers all of history partiocularly concerning Jesus Christ Our Lord.
