Mark 13:13-16

Verse 13.And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

For hat reason are you hated? For My name's sake. The sake of the true Christ.

And the same shall be saved. Jesus says He is going to keep us safe, He is going to put his wing of protection right over the top of us. Does that mean things are going to be perfect? NO! We will be able to cut it with His help. Why?

Because we are true believers.

Verse 14. But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:

Let them that be in Judaea that would be the state that Jerusalem is in.

Just who is the he here that is standing in the holy place? It is Satan, the Antichrist the instead of Jesus. He is clamming to be God. What is Jesus quoting here? Danial 9:27. If it is properly translated Danial tells you long before and Jesus is making this 27th verse of Danial a part of the New Testament because when you see it standing where he ought not you better know that you are getting pretty close. What does Danial 9:27 say; And he shall confirm(this is the Antichrist) the covenant with many for 1 week (that is the 70th week the end) in the midst of the week (that is 31/2 years) He shall cause the sacrifice of the oblation to cease (this would be our Communion today in other words Communion at the Lords table would cease. Why? Because he wants it to. If your taking communion then you will be taking it not to Jesus but Satan) and for the overspreading of abomination and He shall make it desolate,(What it really says is for the over spreading of wings from the desolatour. That is a person not a condition that is to say the end of time) and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. That is none other than the Antichrist himself. God takes care of business. That is what is going to happen He is going into the abyss.

If you lay aside all doctrine and the traditions of men that make void the word of God it becomes easier to understand.

Then let them that are in Judea flee to the mountains. It is time to get out of Dodge if you can. There will be some that need to stay and we will cover that in the next verses.

Verse 15.And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:

Let him that is on the housetop NOT go down. You are standing watch and you do not leave your post. What are we watching for the enemy and sounding the alarm to save others. This is not a time to be packing your bags and going AWOOL: absent with out official leave. Jesus has not come yet and releaved us from our post.

Verse 16. And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.

What is the field that they are working in? No better place to find out than from Jesus.

Matthew 13:36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.

Jesus is going to explain the parable given in verses 24-30.

Verse 37. He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; He that soweth the Good seed is the Son of Man: Jesus. Remember that this is in reference to Mark 13 and the workers of the field.

Verse 38. The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; The field is the world.

So back in Mark 13:16 The people that are working in the field, in the world warning the people about the Antichrist standing in The Holy Place are not to turn back they are not to pick up their garments and fly away. NO! They re to stay working just like the watchman on the roof is not to leave his post and go running to Jerusalem to join the instead of Jesus. We are to stay working until Jesus puts His foot on the Mt. Of Olives and sets up His Millennium Kingdom and gathers us to meet him there. Not in the clouds, not some far away space place. Jesus is coming here to earth to reign a thousand years then God comes with The White Throne of Judgment and the books of life to judge all. Some to get great rewards and eternal life other no so good and get eternal judgment.

You do realize this is prophecy ….spoken to Israel …Not to us.

There is a large gap between what you have stated and when this takes place. Currently that gap (before any of this prophecy begins) is about 1995 years based on Christ being born Sept 3BC with a ministry lasting about 1 year 7 months. You can dispute those dates but the gap is big….for good reason.

There was a mystery (a secret) that God had kept hidden which was not fully disclosed until Paul received it by revelation.

That mystery is the one body (the one new man) encapsulated within this administration (dispensation) of grace ….which will cease at the return of Christ in the air 1Th 4:17 for the gathering together of His saints “in Christ”. ….It is then that the prophecy you speak of will begin like a thief in the night….But we will be gone ….we (the believers) will be with Christ …we don’t go through that.

Jesus was talking to his disciples at the time.
He is warning them about the events that were to happen in 70 ad. If one understands history, knows that when Vespasian invaded, the christians evacuated to the hill country.

No sir, there is no one who was to stay, when Vespasian layed siege to Jerusalem, it was so bad that starving women roasted and ate their infant children. Jesus gabe the warning to His disciples so they would not be there.
Verse 15.And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:

Let him that is on the housetop NOT go down. You are standing watch and you do not leave your post. What are we watching for the enemy and sounding the alarm to save others. This verse needs to be taken in context with the others. The directive is leave without packing any thing, just flee, now.

Verse 16. And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.

What is the field that they are working in?
Again this is part of the warning issued. It is to simply say when this happens dont go back and get anything, just flee.

These verses all go together. Jesus gave a warning about what was to happen, the siege of Jerusalem was a horrific thing, and when Titus who took charge after Vespasian went back to Rome to be Emperor after the death of Nero. Things got even worse. Titus broke through the city walls and utterly destroyed the city and the temple and was on a murderous rampage.
It would be nice if you would study the events of history. These are recorded by a fellow named Josephus, and his writings are translated to English for us.

So, you are saying that both the Old Testament and the New are for us? We are left out in the cold ?

Not saying that at all ....We are part of the one body that Christ returns for in 1Th 4:17 ..."So shall we ever be with the Lord".... doesn't leave us in the cold

Many prophecies have multiple fulfillments down through the ages.

eg. Temple abominations, fleeing into wilderness, false teachers,... and the list goes on.
