Those good intentioned people who only want you to be as happy as they are and will find you a good man/woman. They say things such as "I can't believe someone hasn't snatched you up!" or "Why aren't you married yet?" What responses have you found fun or successful in stopping the questions?
 
frustrate them by always saying you're never getting married. lol
 
Haha. I've also told them the Bible says God will supply all my needs and since He hasn't given me a husband I must not need one. Who can argue with the Bible? :)

I have found the most effective way to put a stop to those questions is to simply react to the question with a small degree of hostility, nothing mean or rude but enough to make clear that you are hearing it a lot, too much, and that it is just getting on your nerves, when they see that frustration they'll stop saying it because they won't want to upset you.

There are times when being polite creates a whole new set of problems and this is one of them, unless you make it plainly clear you just don't want to hear about it they probably won't ever stop because in their minds it's just an innocent question paired with a compliment, people don't realise how annoying that can be until they experience it.

I usually say 'I'll let you know when it's your business', but that's not gonna make you any friends.

lol I think Matthew's on the right track, I wish I could be that assertive, usually someone has to repeatedly ask me that question before I tell them to cut it out, not that I get asked it a whole lot.

I just have ‘concerned’ ppl wanting to set me up with guys ALL THE TIME !!. I hate that being single is seen as a bad thing, like a diversion from the natural way of life ext.

When people should be enjoying that season in their life (I certainly am), because once you’re married you're never going to have that time or freedom back again.
 
I totally agree with you, you have to be assertive with people like that otherwise they'll never stop.

Thank you! I am not the only one who thinks being single is good!

BTW I have a lady who has already claimed me for her grandaughter-in-law. I have never met the boy, he lives three and a half hours from me, and he is two years younger than me!:confused:

that's more disturbing than my situation.

i have a friend trying to set me up with a dude over 30 hours away. never met him.
