Nevertheless, regardless of what their question was, Jesus told them in no uncertain terms that there was nothing they could do to work the works of God - that only God can do them, that's what makes them works of God. It is crystal clear - it is God's work alone within/to someone for them to believe. He does not do so for everyone but only for His chosen people. You are adding to those verses doctrines that they do not and cannot support based upon their words, because you do not like the doctrine that Christ alone is the Savior, not man.
