I just did some counting. Wow! I way underestimated. I've lived through around 60 predictions of the End.... and that's not even counting Hal Lindsey's numerous fiascos.

I like the last few guesses on that list,
....where the scientists predicted the year 5 Zillion (or whatever), as the end of the world?
Smart.

That way, when it doesn't happen,.... they won't be around for the fallout like Harold Camping.

But, to be honest, in all fairness, can't you also see all the things many of us believe that some man (or group) has "proven" to us through selected verses creatively interpreted?

These verses cannot be interpreted outside the confext of verses 37-39:

Matt 24:37-41

37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

From verse 39, we see that the taking is a taking to judgement or destruction. Those who remain, as those on the ark are preserved unto life.

I am neither Preterist, Post Millenniel, nor amillenniel; but I thought the words Particularly interested did not exclude me.

Yes it is embarrassing as the bible clearly says no man will know the time and day, but also that list is a little misleading as well as their were many more that made predictions just in the past 20 years. And some on that list like John Hagee did not actually do a date setting for a rapture or the Lords return, as what he actually did do is what tons of other prophetic and biblical teachers have done and said that these blood moons may point to something significant in prophecy.
There is a big difference in saying this will happen, and saying this might happen.
The 4 blood moons that fall on feast days have proven in the past to align with significant things with Israel, and here we have it again. Many things are very close to getting done that align with bible prophecy.

I don't know what translation that is Ken, but they were bound IN the great river Euphrates, not "at".

I really wish you guys wouldn't try to fabricate Crystal Ball scenarios by attempting to patch together unrelated text gathered from around the different books of the Bible to create a fictional doctrine of The Rapture.

If any of this hokus pocus theology was true, Jesus wouldn't have given the Jews back then something to watch for which was not even going to happen for thousands of years after they would be dead and buried. When He said "soon", it meant the Biblical term, "soon". Which means.... "soon."

But did it happen back then? Did Christ return and snatch His believers up? If so, history missed it. All his disciples missed it too since they all died. Christ could not have been speaking specifically to His disciples. Rather he was speaking about Believers in the last days.

The question posed to Christ was a multi part question.

“Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

Christ was asked the 3 questions above in bold. Many think the first had to deal with the destruction of the Temple in AD 70. However, that is not the case. The topic of the temple was brought up while they were still at the temple. Then they went to the Mount of Olives and where there when the above questions were posed.

The very first words out of Jesus' mouth was about end times deception...

“Take heed that no one deceives you..."

The next few verses deal with persecutions and killings like we are seeing today and have seen throughout the centuries. But then Jesus says something interesting that I have never heard anyone put quite the way I am going to put it.

The above verse cannot be dealing with the period around AD 70 because clearly, that would have been a time to be troubled since the whole country was scattered and the temple destroyed. Also, they wouldn't have to be "hearing" about it, they would have been living it. So Jesus was clearly talking about later in time but closer to the end since he then says this:

...but the end is not yet."

Those alive during this period of intense persecution

[SUP]7 [/SUP]For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences[SUP],[/SUP] and earthquakes in various places. [SUP]8 [/SUP]All these are the beginning of sorrows.

To me this implies that while the end isn't yet, it is coming soon at this point. Christ isn't speaking of secular Israel, I don't think, because Israel isn't mentioned.

Now with the below He is speaking of HIS faithful, His End Times Church.

This is happening now (and I know it has been happening before but it is increasing). So Jesus is giving SIGNS of the end. Then we have this truth:

He is going to rescue His faithful when He returns. For the Elect's sake

[SUP]22 [/SUP]And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.

We are told when the end comes:

[SUP]14 [/SUP]And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

The great commission (great mission) NEVER was completed by the disciples as they never reached all the nations!! However, this has happened now. Then we have something that triggers Satan's Great Tribulation. It is Satan's King of the North, AKA Man of Sin (which many call AntiChrist) performing a certain act. We see it here in the below passages:

Dan 11:
[SUP]31 [/SUP]And arms shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation.

Mat 24:

2 Thes 2:

Rev 13:

The above event somehow triggers a killing rampage against Christians and Jews, the likes the world has never seen. Satan's Islamic Extremists Army goes on a killing spree so bad and so extensive that the Lord actually has to put a stop to it or no believers will be left alive.
