I'm horrible with death.
We spend our lives being faithful and going to church and following the commandments all in the belief that 'God' has something bigger and better for us on the other side. It's like we all have tickets to an all expense paid trip to Hawaii. The thing I don't understand is that whenever it's time for one of us to board the plane, He has to drag us kicking and screaming the whole way. We will suffer as long and hard as humanly possible to avoid meeting the God and His paradise we so adamately claim to believe in.
And there's the catch. Do you know or do you just believe?
It's real, GodsGirl. Right now your father is partying before the throne of God, praising, rejoicing, taking it all in and thinking **edited** Yeah I miss my friends and family who've moved on but honestly, I stand over their caskets and think 'you lucky dog'. You're there with Him, I'm still here without, and between the two of us you have the far better address.
Miss him, but don't mourn him. Celebrate his life and let the icing on the cake be the fact that whatever he had here and now is but a miniscule fraction of what he has, there and now.
And as the angel at Jesus tomb told the women on Easter morning, as you look upon your fathers stone may an angel whisper in your ear, 'the one you seek is not here'.
