Welcome. Nothing like jumping in the deep end with both feet.
Does that mean you made sense of the OP? .:giggle:

I do have a preference for full sentences that are grammatically correct .;)

I think so. The debate will be about whether Ephesians 1:13 is the baptism of the Spirit or the sealing of the Spirit and various arguments from there.

Grammar police are always welcome but I am of the school that language is for the purpose of communication and the language elite are fewer in number than we serfs.

I see... this being a new member I did not reackon they were aware of these debates here.

Meaning Baptism of the Holy Spirit What, when where?

Kudos to you for making sense of ^ ^ .:D

Language being for the purpose of communication is exactly why proper sentence
structure and grammar are helpful. Having a preference for these finer points of the
English language does not make me an honorary member of the police, though
.;)

Don't mind us, Elijah .;). We kid around with each other sometimes...

Please don't take it personally. I realize English is not everyone's first language. If you do
have problems in that way, best to let others know so they will make allowances for you

There is certainly a place for knowing and employing formal grammar but ease of communication is fostered by informal word usage or it wouldn't be the predominant form of communication. Much the same as formal wear. I doubt you sleep in an evening gown.

Hmmm, those two things have nothing to do with each other, really. I tend to give people the
benefit of the doubt and think that most people make an effort to be as clear as possible especially
considering the subject matter, where we treat the Word with the respect it deserves. Mind you my
mind is sometimes not as clear as I would like it to be and that is also why I extend grace to others.

Sorry all. Had to go out of house for while. Ephesians 1.13. Clearly, this says SEALED not Baptized. John said Matthew 1.8 “I indeed baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit. Also, Jesus said, Acts 1.5 “for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

Did I have to twist your rubber arm to see it, or were you aware of it before? Just curious... .;)
Ahh...if only I wasn't so informal I would have written...Your continued generosity is noted. Lesson learned.

Ah, if only I did not think so highly of you, I would care less what you think of me...

What?
The Comforter , and perhaps which what is rather who...

Who is also alluded to in Lamentations'1' want of:16For these things I weep; my eyes flow with tears. For there is no one nearby to comfort me, no one to revive my soul. My children are destitute because the enemy has prevailed.

And Who is promised by Jesus in John 15:26When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father—He will testify about Me

When?
You believe without seeing, which may be talking about understanding rather than visualization (it is after being baptized that you will 'see', "know,' 'understand').

Acts 10:44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all who heard his message.

Acts 11: 15 As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, just as He had fallen upon us at the beginning.

Acts 15:8 And God, who knows the heart, showed His approval by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as He did to us.

Where?
With your spirit

Romans 8:15 For you did not receive a spirit of slavery that returns you to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”
Romans 8:16 The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

Thanks for getting this on track.

The feeling is mutual. I'm just teasing you because teasing some here is taboo. Where is oyster67 anyway?

OK. Then, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, is a 2nd manifestation of HS, after the person is born again. Cornelius and his house, heard Peter preach the Gospel ... supposing they must have BELIEVED during the sermon ... they got Born Again ... then HS came on them. Right ?
