It could be heartburn though.
Heartburn

So I asked you out today
Because there was no other way
I thought we should go skating
But you said no, so now I'm staying
At home all by myself
Sitting alone next to my bookshelf.

I have a tub of ice cream in my hands
And I'm listening to all my favorite bands
Using the noise of their voices
To drown out the roses
I bought a box of the donuts that I like
Though not without picking a fight.

But no amount of chocolate sprinkles
Can unfurrow my brow and smooth out my wrinkles
I end up burning my tongue on hot cocoa
So I toss it and eat just the marshmallows
When you said no I felt a billion years older
And I think I'd prefer if my heart was colder.

I still can't help but heat up
At the prospect of a meet-up
Why am I not surprised
I just wish I could look you in the eye
Without getting a heartburn
Without blushing like a girl.

I just don't understand
Why you can hold my hand
Without feeling a thing
And it makes my blood sing
But you said no and now my stomach churns
With a different kind of heartburn.

Yeah, but my heart isn't burning so bright for you.
For some reason I am reminded of a line from a video game.
"I'm sorry, my heart belongs to another now."
"If I want your heart I'll use a scalpel."

I’m too afraid to ask what kind of video game promotes that type of saying.

It was an RPG called Blackguards. It seemed devoted to turning stereotypes on their heads. All the main character heroes were people from questionable pasts. The one I quoted was a philanderer. The scalpel line was a woman dissing him.
