Hugs Arwen, worry not.

I would marry a girl who couldn't have kids.

Adoption is always an ADittional OPTION

Oh yeah. I went there. And now you are all cringing.

more so at the spelling then what you tried to do with the words...

Not everyone wants children. In this day and age, it's becoming more common to choose not to have kids. (Ironically, the world is becoming more overpopulated than ever despite this. Go figure.:p)

Many people are okay with adoption too. There are lots of kiddos out there already existing who need a good home. :)

Personally, if I married someone who couldn't have kids, or if I was the one who couldn't, it would be a huge load off my mind. The thought of childbirth (and the following 18+ years after that) freaks me out, lol.

I always debate whether or not to post on resurrected threads, but here I go chiming in anyway:

The way I see it, I've got two wonderful blessings already, a son and a daughter. (If I do ever go on the market, I'm the perfect package for someone shopping for the Instafamily, lol.) I'm pretty much the ideal family unit as made by Matel, with the exception of a Mrs. I am very content with where I'm at on the kid front, and tend towards content on the Mrs. front also.
In the future should I ever date again, I would not rule someone out because they either already had kids, were unable to have kids, or possibly even if they wanted to try for a kid (once married, of course).

someone said to me u are beautiful and smart and hate doing this but I really want kids and u really don't.kinda stung but I respected him for being upfront

Would you not consider dating someone if you knew beforehand that she couldn't have children?
"Speaking in terms that are 'ideal' - but, not necessarily 'absolute' -- and, considering my age, my situation in life, etc. --- I am looking for a woman who has never been married, and who has never been pregnant. If she could not have children - then, I might very well consider it to be... well... 'ideal'... "

( This is a statement of preference, ladies - please, don't you dare think for one second that I think there is anything wrong with any woman who has ever been married or pregnant. Not so - by any stretch of the imagination. )

:)

Needless to say, I would be sympathetic towards her if she wanted to have children of her own but could not.

However - 'ideal' would be -- if she could not have children but also did not want to have any children.

:)

There is a very good chance I will never have children. 1) I'm 32 and no marriage on the horizon. 2) There's a strong possibility that I can't have kids. 3) I'm completely fine with the notion of my future husband already having a child(ren). I do understand some of how you feel Arwen. I want a family, but maybe the Lord has something else planned for me. I don't know, but medically speaking, if you do get married and decide to have kids, your drug regimen may be able to be changed. Anything is possible.

At this point in my life:

"All I want is her..."

:)

If I was single and considering a wife, I wouldn't mind the prospect of marrying someone who couldn't have children. That is, as long as she didn't mind me still having children. Before my wife and I got married, we agreed on four children. After the first child was born, she had selective amnesia and said she'd never agreed to four. She didn't want to have another child. I told her, "Somebody is going to have another child for me." :) She gave me one more and I let the other two slide. :)

Well shae and and Relena7, did you know it is actually a biblical command to multiply which is given to those who are able.

Genesis 9:7- 'As for you be fruitfull and multiple, populate the earth abundantly and multily in it'

And the earth is by no means abundantly populated when you look at countries like Namibia, Mongolia, Australia and the Falkland Islands which have down to 0.25 people per km (average)

Psalm 127:3- 'Behold children are a gift from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward'

In Isaiah God tells us it is he that opens and closes the womb (thus for a reason).

Isaiah 66:9- 'Or shall I who gives delvery shut the womb?'

Genesis 29:31- 'When God saw that leah was hated, he opened her womb'

Genesis 30:22- 'Then God remembered Rachel and gave heed to her and opened her womb'

In fact Paul, when writing to Timothy teaches that women in a general and practical (not a salvation) sense redeem themselves from the sin of eve by bearing children and bringin them up in a Godly way.

1 Timothy 3:14-15- 'And it was not adam who was decieved, but the woman being decieved, fell into transgression. But women will be preserved through the bearing of children if they continue in faith and love and sanctity and self-restraint'.

This passage teaches that although mankind became sinfull because of one woman's actions, women, by their actions can help to sanctify mankind by bringing godly children into this world.

Dont buy the atheistic lie that children are too much bother and money, we need more Godly men and women on this earth and if that means working harder or lowering your living standard somewhat, so be it.

well sean, thanks for the notice and ya still not desiring to multiply. it had nothing to do with.athiestic thoughts but maybe the 20 hours of labor. money is an issue don't know if u know but an infant daycare is 140 a week. further more it puts the child that I have in an odd situation of new kids calling their father dad while mine can't or feeling odd ball out. but thank u oh so much for the biblical wisdom

Well I think if I was to say " a purpose of a man and woman being together is for pro-creation " would be over the top and sounds like mosaic law that no one could live up to. So I say if I love a woman and I believe that God has sent her to me to be my wife and helper, well thats it, Geronimo!!!
