During my menstrual period I find that I feel down. I've heard of other ladies who experienced this, but I wanted to know
if I can take something natural for this issue or maybe there's something I shouldn't be eating. I don't suffer from depression, so I don't think I need to see a doctor. But I'm feeling down a few days out of the month and I'm really sensitive during this time period

. Does anyone have any suggestions?
You're experiencing mood swings because the estrogen in your body has increased. That's why you're more sensitive. Here's a list of things that will help.
Vitamin A has been shown to reduce the symptoms of PMS. Make sure you take the
water soluble version of this.
Vitamin B6 reduces bloating since it is a natural diuretic. It can also help with estrogen levels that may be imbalanced during a menstrual period.
Vitamin E can help relieve soreness and tender breasts. It also regulates hormone levels, and can reduce irritability and depression. Make sure you take the
water soluble version of this.
Vitamin D will also assist with depression.
Pantothenic acid is a natural nutrient that is commonly used to reduce stress.
Calcium and magnesium are naturally powerful substances that help reduce cramping and muscle tension. These nutrients can also reduce stress.
Chocolate will help relieve tension, mood swings, and the like.
If you're not taking a multivitamin, do so. If you think that you'll be getting pregnant within the next 10 years, I would recommend a prenatal vitamin instead. It contains more Folic Acid which is required to cause the neutral tube to close. If the neural tube won't close you may have a spontaneous abortion or the baby will be born with Spina Bifida.
