I like oats too, but took Dr Peter Osborne's classes on grains that cautions about wheat, barley, oats, corn and rice.
He has some classes on grains effects on mental illnesses. There are all kinds of fiber rich foods to choose from. Then there's herbs and gut Flora that help.

If it's regularity and detox, That's a very good priority. Dr Daniels channel, the black lady Dr, has good information on that.
Here's a class from Dr Osborne.

Regularity and Self Evaluation
Thanks for bringing that up, as I recall those grains do or did have a negative effect on mental clarity(at least for me), especially when I wasn’t lifting weights, getting enough sun or eating a balanced diet.

I also discovered that if I take off my glasses outside, instead of having them on (even though it’s blurry) that it boosts my mood big time, not sure how that affects others.

When it comes to HDL cholesterol being low or Triglycerides being too high, I brought up to my nurse practitioner that I have to add more avocados and oats to my diet, to get healthy fats and fiber, along with continued exercise.

She gave me a better alternative…take fish oil supplements for healthy fats and five almonds a day for fiber.

Now I absolutely hate almonds, so I might just continue eating oats, especially since I have a giant bag of rolled oats but I thought that sharing about that alternative might really h
Glasses have UV blockers.
You don't want to look at the sun. But what you said about getting enough sun is important in the morning. It sets the circadian rhythm and helps with proper hormone production.
What you notice about boosting your mood is awesome. It has no harmful side effects. In fact if it's warm enough to expose arms and legs, the hormone/vitamin D3 is produced if you have enough cholesterol. This helps us feel better and increases the immune function.

Here's the last class I had today..
I recommend it. Dr Osborne covers information that will doubtless be useful.

There is good news about the modern medicine and mental illness. There are new type of drugs coming out soon. New class of drugs. One of them will be here in Q2 of 2026, the FDA will review it. The drug has little weight gain compared to the current drugs. It works for both schizo and bipolar.

Brilaroxazine (RP5063)

And then there is the;
NBI-1117568, NBI-568. An M4 only agonist.

Thanks for sharing @Brasspen , that's an amazing find.
I am hoping that the current weaning off process I'm on will lead to decent results.
Every time i told my previous nurse practitioner that i was doing great, she would up my meds, which I find to be very, very strange.
I think I am now realizing that they more so want to control us with these meds, instead of actually heal us...i'm coming to find out that simple daily exercise, sun and a balanced diet is sometimes better then these meds.
These meds make it really hard to have the motivation to do anything, which causes all the problems (for me at least) and then they bandaid all the side effects with more meds...it's absolute insanity.

Before 2010, I never had schizophrenic symptoms when I had an old roommate admit me into the hospital, and then I was diagnosed with schizophrenia. After I got out of the hospital that same week, I still didn't have any schizophrenic symptoms...I even was a host and worked my way up to being a server at the Olive Garden, while being diagnosed. There was literally nothing wrong with me, but all because a highly respected psychiatrist at UCI Hospital in Orange, California, named Dr. Novac, diagnosed me as schizophrenic, I believed that I was for 5 years, until I was rediagnosed as schizoaffective in 2015, "because I was doing so well". Then, fast forward to 2024, they rediagnose me as schizoaffective bipolar type, switch meds that were working great, then they start loading me up with more and more meds after I told them that I'm doing great. Fast forward to two weeks ago, I "fired" my nurse practitioner and got a new nurse practitioner. She diagnosed me with ptsd (even though I don't get flashbacks), but we are currently on the way toward weaning off of like 4-6 medications, which I'm very happy about.

So, we'll see how this all goes.

@YouOnlyLiveTwice I learn about Caplyta medicine. It works for schizophrenia + bipolar I & II. It is weight neutral. No weight gain. It's good for metabolic health compared to the mainstream medicnie. It was released in 2019. I am looking for a new doctor so I can try and get that. My current doctor will not change the medicine, he says it's better to not change it when it's working. He then suggest I get my stomach removed to manage the fat. So I am looking for telehealth doctor. I have gone to harmany before, so I am looking to see if I can get appointment with them.

Have you listened to classes from Dr Peter Breggin?

By the way, this weaning off of Vraylar process is way harder than expected. Never get on Vraylar.

what replaced the old "useful" and 'informative' reactions?
Guess good old plain (y) will have to do.
Thanks for the link.

Sometimes it really pays to get those 2nd opinions; a new set of eyes looking things over.

I'm glad you found it useful.
I followed Drs Osborne and Daniels for years. They are two who are extremely practical when it comes to how to eat right and treat your own family.
I learned about the grain issues through observation, then found out later that one Dr who also became a nutritionist wrote a book on the research surrounding the subject

I like the old emoticons too.

I haven’t but his name sounds familiar

I posted his website and info in some threads on mental illness because he was/is considered the world's leading expert on psychiatric drugs. There are videos on other platforms, but YouTube and Google scrubbed the Internet of most of his helpful information, unfortunately. He's helped people wean off of meds. According to him, most don't do so safely. Here's one of the interviews I was able to find.

BTW he also put an end to lobotomies and some other horrendous treatments the psychiatric MDs used to use.

I completely agree.

Currently weaning off of two meds at the same time. Everyone close to me seem super excited that I’m most likely going to be going down to 1-2 meds only and maybe none at all.

Seems like everyone (mental health professionals) wants to diagnose me with something. I’m over all the side effects. I’m pretty sure I’m healed by the blood of Jesus.

These medical professionals just want another client. They don’t want to actually heal people. They want to load people up on pills, so your whole existence is managing the times you take them.

That’s my experience

Hang in there. The end result is worth the torture you're going through. God is with you and I pray that you will seek his comfort in every step of your journey.
That is very kind of you @Billyd it surely is a suffering that is interfering with my state of mind that is for sure.

I can’t wait till it’s over with.

I was fine originally on one or even two meds, not 8, ya know!

I’m going to be spending tons of time with the Lord. There is no other way someone can get through this without the comfort of Jesus (I’m pretty sure)

Just been having some weird mental health bouts lately, possible spiritual warfare, not sure.

I feel like my purity and closeness to God has strayed big time and I’d like to get back there.
