Lol. If you walked down the street naked, you rightly should be arrested. However, mothers will often change their babies in public, without any crime of indecency.
Michelangelo's David statue does have some effeminate features and the little wiener part just provides confirmation to the viewer that the statue is indeed male. It has nothing to do with sex or causing arousal, and most rational adults would not consider it filth, anymore than describing a socket which has connections that stick out as "male", or describing a socket with internal slotted connections as "female".
Michelangelo's David is not pornography. It's also not the true depiction of what is presumably king David who in actuality would have been circumcised.

First off I laughed because if you think the statue has a "stiffy" I seriously question how old/educated in life you really are.
But then curiosity got me and I had to check, and lo and behold there is an episode of Beavis and his pal touring an art museum (I won't post it, but it was a pretty easy find) where they do indeed comment about the marble statue being hard while parts of it *ahem* are not.

I've wondered about this in the past. I think King David might even have been insulted with that aspect, considering his epithets to his enemies the "uncircumcised philistines". This said, maybe Michelangelo did it deliberately so as to show the statue was male whilst giving it an infant's member (less than 8 days old) to reduce any focus on sexual aspects (contrary to the OP's opinion).

Agreed. Many children suffer low self esteem because their parents implant the idea they should be ashamed of their bodies.
When we read of girls from Christian families killing their newborn after hiding their pregnancy from their strict Christian parents it was because they were ashamed and terrified of their parents reactions.
A Renaissance masterpiece labeled as pornography is part of that suppressive shame culture and mind set.

The next indicated step, then, would be to teach the children what those body parts are for - not just pissing and defecating.

Because He was stripped of EVERYTHING, He bore ALL our shame, and the reality is that yes, even THAT was exposed (regardless of how religious art portrays it)

This is an interesting question. While I'm not offended by Michelangelo's David, I really dislike the crucifixion art with Jesus on the cross. Perhaps it's partly because I think how can we mere men capture the likeness of our Saviour in our art (or even dare to try), or perhaps it's because I don't think we ever could properly describe what He went through for us, or perhaps because He is risen, so why bother to permanently capture what He suffered when He has been raised? Maybe all three.
So while I don't really even bat an eye at an ugly little doodle on a Michelangelo's David statue, any sort of depiction of the Saviour on the cross (not an empty cross), twists and tears at my heart to observe.
