I had been contemplating going back to college off and on for several months. Even though the idea of being back on campus at my age sortof scared me i was excited about the new opportunities this would give me. But when plans fell thru i was crushed. This meant i couldn't go back to school now and i had to stay at my job that i felt was eating away at my soul.

But the very same day i found out my school plans had fell thru i had some great news. Earlier that week i had felt a prompting to check on a lady, whom i will call Jane, from church that had lost her way and wasnt attending church anymore. I had asked the missionaries from church to please go check on her. The same night i heard the disappointing news about school I received a phone call that night from the missionaries. Jane told them that she had been wanting to contact me for quite some time. I had previously made contact with her like 5 months earlier and encouraged her to come to church. She was excited about returning to church but she didn't have a way to get there or a phone to call anyone. We made plans over the phone to help her get to church the next Sunday.

I realized then there was a reason why i wasn't leaving the area to go back to school. Heavenly Father needed me here to help his children. The experience was very humbling and i also realized i had forgot to pray about my decision. The opinion that mattered the most...i hadnt even bothered to consider. Lesson learned. Next time i have a major decision to make i will go to Heavenly Father first before anyone else.
