It's basically impossible to get the mic in chat which is infuriating when you have something you want to add to the conversation.
Sunce now only paying subscribers can use the mic function, it's not really worth paying for when you have maybe a 10% chance of ever getting the mic. Usually its two or three people who monopolize the mic.
In Yahoo chat we used to pick someone to moderate the mic. When you want the mic you post a T. The moderator keeps track and gives everyone their turn on the mic accordingly. We had a 2 minute time limit and then you had the past of Might to the next person in line.

This sounds like a great suggestion.

A couple of years ago I tried the chats, but the people with the microphones didn't read anything that the rest of us were typing, and yeah, they just pretty much ran the place. I got tired of it very quickly lol. Haven't been back to the chats, and enjoying the forums much more! Goooo forums people! :-D

Hi Dude,

When you're a paying member, your name goes into a queue right away and it goes in order.

So let's say someone is talking and there are 2 others in the queue. When you click on the mic your name goes immediately at the end of the line so that you will be the 3rd person to speak.

So if you decide to become a paying member, you will get the mic much of the time because there's a time limit on how long any one person can talk. I think it's 2 minutes, but whatever it is, it's not long.

Dude shouldn't have to pay. He should have been grandfathered in. Perhaps he means new users.
But as stated above, it should be queued. In order of when it was clicked. Perhaps there a glitch people take advantage of.
