PHOENIX (AP) – A judge has barred Maricopa County officials from enforcing two Arizona identity-theft laws that have been used to convict hundreds of immigrant workers.

The decision Monday by U.S. District Judge David Campbell came nearly three weeks after Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio voluntarily disbanded his squad that raided dozens of businesses to arrest more than 700 immigrants who were charged with using fake or stolen IDs to get jobs.

While other agencies make arrests under the two laws, Arpaio's office is the only department in the state to raid businesses in enforcement of the statutes. The closure of the sheriff's squad ended Arpaio's last major foothold in immigration enforcement after the courts and federal government have gradually reined in his powers in recent years.

Arpaio is the only U.S. official actually doing something about illegals, and they just tied his hands again, perhaps for the last time. This is getting ridiculous! We have an insecure border that ISIS could walk across -- and probably has! -- and a U.S. District Court is telling a sheriff he can't enforce the laws of his own state because he's using them to catch illegals. The apocalypse may not be upon us, but I think I hear the floor boards creaking from it's approach.

What's ridiculous is you people rejecting THE TRUTH about the SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER.

The more you ignore it, the more God is going to poor out his WRATH on an unbelieving wicked generation. A generation is 70 years. From 1946 to 2016 = 70 years.

You're old enough to remember what effective national security and a working immigration system looks like. They rolled it up after the Cold War ended. All gone. It's just a matter of time now. Wait for it...

While we are dithering over the current movements of people here & there on the globe, there may be demons duking it out, a la Daniel 10.

Has anyone yet figgered it out how the USA is not & never was any democracy (where people voted the laws)? We have a mixed constitution of monarchy, oligarchy, & republic -- not to mention bureaucracy. By Congress passing so many, many laws that no one could possibly know them, the executive branch has been handing a pass to nullify any & all laws by selective enforcement, an actual necessity as the exec has not the money, man power, resources to enforce all the laws. Then by our constitution setting force short principles in the Bill of Rights, including that the people have other rights not enumerated, principles which trump all legislated laws, the constitution made the SCOTUS supreme an elite, unelected, virtually unremovable oligarchy.

So it matters nothing what legislatures pass, the courts can strike them down at will, including immigration laws. And the Exec can do the ol' non-enforcement at will also.

The Constitution needs changing, though given that the people's sinful nature won't change, fixing the theory & structure may not be effective to bring about good.

But let us dream of these changes:

1) term limits on all judges.
2) recall elections on all judges, whenever just 1 house by majority votes for it, or when 10 states vote it.
3) whenever both houses shall agree by simple majority alone, a bill of Legislation from the Bench may be passed, which action shall at once vacate any judicial decision.
4) no court but the SCOTUS may declare any law unconstitutional, and then such declaration shall be ineffective until passed by normal legislative process or plebiscite. SCOTUS may choose which validation process to use (submission to Congress for vote then to Pres to sign -- or plebiscite). But if either validation process fails to sustain the SCOTUS, all the justices who agreed with "unconstitutional" shall at once be put up for recall election.

Our constitution is defective in not spelling out the process for declaring a law unconstitutional.
 
WHO ARE THE ILLEGAL WORKERS IN THE USA?

Suppose an employee is told by his employer that if he is late to work one more time, he will be fired. So on a day in the following week, said employee oversleeps. To keep from being fired, said employee drives to work at 70 mph, though the speed limit is 60 mph. Said employee kept his job only by breaking the law. Thus said employee is now an illegal worker!

Said employee has broken the law, but in general most people would not condemn him for that. Now is said employee's crime worse than that of a Mexican who crosses the border, & then works in the USA, but never breaks the speed limit?

Now if the Americans who are of European ancestry are going to murder their babies by the millions (upon millions), slicing them up with scalpels & running the little bodies through garbage disposals, who is going to pay for their Social Security when they retire if there are no illegal invader workers here?

Despite that ridiculous analogy you posted, the illegal workers are still the illegal immigrants who come into this country without going through the proper admissions process, take a job and either get paid illegally under the table or buy forged/stolen documents in order to "qualify" for said job, send their kids to school thereby soaking up tax dollars intended for legal or natural U.S. citizens' children, drive without insurance or a license or commit other crimes and then get sent to jail and thus cost more tax dollars that could better be spent elsewhere, eventually (sometimes) get deported and turn right around and reenter the country illegally and start the whole process over.

Some of them are extremists who believe they have the right to cross the border simply because the economic situation in their country is worse than it is here. Some want the Gadsden Purchase, Texas, and California "given back" to Mexico (seemingly not realizing that they will turn the successes those states and regions are into the disaster northern Mexico is now, in less than ten years). Some think their residency entitles them to vote, collect unemployment or welfare, and other rights and privileges that no nation in the world allows for anyone but legal residents.

You really equate that to speeding to get to work? You're pretty naïve, aren't you?

Records received from USCIS through a Freedom of Information Request reveal that from 2009 to 2014, the agency issued 5,461,568 new work permits to aliens. These are issued in addition to the approximately 1.1 million new legal immigrants and the 700,000 new guest workers admitted each year."

^ Oops! Report finds 5.5 million work permits since 2009 that were not authorized by Congress in addition to the 1.1 million plus 700,000 that were.
