I'm in a new chapter of my life. Moved here 6 months ago. Away from friends and my family to be closer to my husband's family (which are 65 miles away). Went from a pretty big city to a very small community of 400 people. Most women my age work so I haven't made many friends and those I have are mostly retired, older people. Which are have been wonderful friends so far, just looking for friends I'd have more in common with. I won't start working outside my home until the fall. Have been dealing with personal trials. Mourning the biggest move of my life and my father's passing. I'm just struggling and would like some Christian friends to talk to. Most people around here are not Christians or not "walking the walk". I'd really love to chat with you if you have time.

Hi and welcome to the community :)

Thank God for the interwebs so that we can all find and communicate with our fellow Christian friends! I am sure you will find many good friends that will keep you company in your time of need, laughs and what not that this life brings.

God Bless!! Know that you are not alone and Jesus is always there with you!!

Welcome to the site, Daisy. =) Since you have an account you can jump into live chat any time you want. Just have to find the big blue "Chat Now!" button around the top of the main page and click it.

Welcome to the site! MY family and I moved to a very small community from a large city a few years ago and my parents joined neighborhood groups and my dad joined a group in our Church. Consider all the things going on around you and even beyond that maybe! Are you near any larger towns? or cities? Maybe you can host a party or dinner since you and your husband are new to town :) Hope all the best for y'all!

Oh! And remember to be open-minded with the new community you're adjusting to and the new unfamiliar people you face. Close-mindedness is one of the biggest problems with... almost everything in my opinion. Just because someone may not be a believer or have similar or the same beliefs as you does not mean they will not be good people or good friends. That's one of the biggest lessons I've ever learned that so many people in this day and age do not consider. Things may be different but that's typically a good thing ;)

Welcome to CC and to your new home :). It takes a while to make friends and feel connected. Have you found a church? That's always a good place to start. Praying for new friends for you :)

I know exactly how you feel, GerberDaisy. I moved from a very large city to a town of 2,000 -- it is NOT easy. Not only are you dealing with the loss of friends and family, but you're living a completely different lifestyle. Shopping is completely different. You're limited in options regarding entertainment. You've lost your church family and are living in a spiritually "challenged" area. I went through the same thing.

Fortunately, my hubby is magnificent. You will find yourself depending on your husband a lot (which is not necessarily a bad thing!). And our relationship really deepened. One adapts to one's circumstances.

I hope you have pets -- they really do help!

Finding a church will definitely be your biggest challenge, but I encourage you to keep trying even if you have to travel a ways. And come here and fellowship -- I have enjoyed it and it does keep you more focused.

If you have any questions regarding living in the country, please feel free to ask me. Be blessed!
