Well, I don't have a TV
I have lived TV free for the majority of my adult life, but have been watching stuff on Netflix for about the last year. I watched Waco in late April. The six-part mini series really helped me come to a better understanding of what happened all those years ago, which was not what the media portrayed at all, because the media (who were sincerely trying to understand what was going on at the time) was led astray by the government, which wanted to dupe the public with their lies and cover-ups. David Koresh was a bit of a religious kook, but according to the sect survivor who wrote a book on his experiences in the compound, and a sympathetic FBI negotiator (Gary Noesner, who spent about half of the 51 day siege on site) who did the same (sympathetic in that he knew the way the FBI was handling it was all wrong, but they did not care for his approach either, and sent him home just before the final carnage started)... according to their telling of the siege, what happened was quite different from what we were told at the time. I would have been tempted to believe we were being manipulated to hate the government but for the solid research that went into the making of this true-life dramatization.
The show was criticized for its sympathetic approach to this sect of the Branch Davidians, but the fact that the victims were humanized is not a bad thing, and the FBI did blatantly lie quite a few times, and also broke the law. Of course I remember hearing about Waco way back when (early nineties), but I am far more interested in historical phenomena now than I was then, and enjoy watching depictions from the times of my youth, even though the details and events are often quite disturbing, since they really bring to light the fallen nature of humanity
The last movie I saw was Gone with the Wind, so I would recommend that one only if you have four hours to spare. if you havent seen it then do as its a classic. the christian character is Melanie, so dont let Scarletts dramas and tantrums put you off.
at the cinema itself I dont know whats showing as Im not really much of a movie goer, I dont think many are even open, I wouldnt really want to sit in a huge room with others with the virus going round.
I have just figured out how to make my own tv aquarium, so I have that on for hours and its very relaxing. I told my children I put some fish on the tv and some of them thought they were real. well they are but I dont have to feed them.
seoul would be happy for me as I had said I would probably eat the fish if someone wanted me to look after their goldfish. But thats why I have tv aquarium. Those big screens are the perfect size.

How do you watch Netflix, on your computer screen? I cut the cable service probably ten years ago, but stream from my computer, to the t.v. screen.
I viewed the Waco incident differently from the main stream view, since really been into conspiracy theories most of my adult life. Glad you had many views on the subject, it helps with decision making.
Don't really want to relive the incident with a Netflix series, but I think Waco was a wake up call to the church. It was Church 911. Not to get into politics, but the political land scape back then, was pretty anti-christ.

Oh, well, I started back at the end of April to move forward from there, though I have been watching Netflix for about a year now, and can recommend some of what I watched at the beginning as well For instance, I enjoyed Knightfall, about the final days of Knights Templar during the 14th century, and also A.D., which takes place after the crucifixion of Christ, and follows the book of Acts, though not exactly, so discernment is required. There was also very early on in my viewing history The Last Kingdom, which may be too graphic for some. It concerned King Alfred's domain in Wessex, which was the only territory within England not overtaken by Norse invaders/Danes/Vikings in the 9th century, which is part of why King Alfred remains the only king of England to be given the epithet "the Great." Since these are presented as fictionalized accounts of historical events, I am prone interrupt my viewing to fact check certain points

I'm considering all your recommendations. Did watch most of that Life of Jesus movie you posted, almost done. Well, listened to most of it, maybe 30 minutes left.

Netflix does make available television shows from what we used to know as the major networks, though I am not much interested in them, and do find the series and movies they produce themselves to have quite high production values, which does not in every case necessarily translate into me liking everything they produce. Does that sound like I am promoting them also?
Well, as I said, I do not have a telly And who rents movies any more? Digital has changed so much very quickly in the last twenty years Let me know when you are ready for more recommendations

Net flix is great, And cheap! . Just saying, Xfinity is greedy. lol once the virus hit and they knew that we
were all confined to our homes. They removed any movie worth watching and put them out for
rent (3.99) lol.
Gone With The Wind is under fire right now for its depictions of the ethnic and racial prejudices that have been commonplace in American society.
People will find fault with anything, hopefully, we can all unite under God.

the burning of Atlanta was the set piece in that movie.
Hattie MacDaniel was barred from the movies premiere as segrgation was still going at the time. she said she earned more playing a maid than being a maid though.
My sister has recommded The Baby sitters club to me...coming on netflix. Except we dont have netflix.

its more about quality over quantity, and how we lose sight of why we are here, mortgage, taxes, land rates, car payments, energy bills, house full of trinkets and baubles we don't even use, vast array of people around us, none of it is necessary to live a fulfilling life. Empty the backpack! Refill it with what is important. only, and preferably have it empty.
Sounds good in theory, but our world puts the homeless in prison.
How have you put these theories into practice?
indeed I have, I do have nice things here at home at the moment, but generally speaking I have had just enough . I have no friends, besides two older women, havent spoken to family in years, and have travelled extensively around australia. It is exhilarating and I have had this attitude since a young age. I did once try and settle with a mortgage etc, I lasted two years and had to get out, it was an awful existence, because then your focus is on the world, money, bills and prosperity.
