Im finally gonna be moving out from my parents place, whoot! gonna be renting a room with a friend so we're gonna be sharing the apartment space. Any things i need to make sure i have/pack before leaving? i have the basics like a bed, a small dresser, a nighttable and i have my own laundry soap. I know ill prob need to buy things that i would normally be sharing with my family, hairdryer, towels, etc.

Any paticular items i might forget that i should be reminded of? i havent gone to take a look at the place yet so i dont know for sure what ill need (room is already a lil furnished but i can just keep what i want/need)
 
How many kitchens does it have? Most places have at least 2-3 kitchens. Make sure you're not being taken for a ride!
 
Its an apartment with two rooms....i get my own room and we live as roomates in the house
 
It's usually the little things that get forgotten...and can add up at the store too. Talk to your mom....she would know what she buys that runs out quicker than she uses them (which means YOU are prob using them and will need them! haha) Toiletries, food (obviously) pots and pans, utensils, kitchen do-dads, scrubbers, cleaning supplies, ..it's usually stuff that's NOT in your bedroom at home that you use around the house right now, that you will need to have for your new place. If your mom and dad are like my hubby and I, anything, and everything in your room (providing it is yours to begin with!! hahha ie: you didn't borrow it from someone else in the family) can be taken when you move. Just keep thinking about not only your daily routines of what you use, but also the odd-ball things that come along.......also ask your mom if there are any brands of things that she buys for you because she knows you like them, but no one else in the family really does, there may be a few things she will just give you to get started with. I've had two daughters move within the last coupla years.......it is exciting but don't forget to give your parents lots of hugs and keep in touch with them!! They will miss you!!!

Tru dat. I got curtains a couple of years ago and they have served me VERY well. I just moved into a house where nobody else has curtains and as soon as they saw mine they realized they were missing out. That said, also a curtain rod - if there isn't one already!

Things to consider are temperatures - if it's all wood floors maybe some carpets so your feet don't get cold on the wood floor in the winter - if it's going to cost a lot to heat consider an electric blanket or other options.

Hangers. Those are something simple people often forget.

Mirrors. Especially a full length mirror! In all of the houses I've lived in people have used mine - which makes me think maybe it is something to just buy.

Know... it would be smart to talk with your roommate about common areas and make sure you're on the same page with cleanliness. The biggest battles that happen in any living situation (from my experience) happen in the kitchen - things being untidy and one person desiring it to be cleaner and the other not caring. The same problems can pour into living spaces and the bathroom so it is just smart to talk through what expectations are and develop plans to meet them.

Anyway, I could talk about living with people forever so I'll cut myself off.
