I notice some posters are able to do multiple quoting within one response post, how? except manually writing in the 'quote' codes?

Next to 'Reply With Quote' there is a symbol, if you mouse over it it says Multi-Quote This Message'.

When you want to multi-quote, click the "multi-quote" button on each post you want to quote, then click the "reply" botton. Each post that was checked with the multi-quote will be quoted in the reply box.

You can also manually type the quote tags.

Example:
username said:
quoted message
Or I think that's it anyway. Too much of a lazy snob to verify but that's the setup on another vBulletin message board.

Example: [quote = username]quoted message[/quote]

!Edit!
Ran out of time to edit my previous post so this is a follow up with the necessary correction. :)

I think that is closer to what I was asking because I wanted to multiquote within one persons post.

You can also highlight your selection, copy + paste it in the reply box, and then highlight what you pasted and hit the "Wrap quote tags" button (far right near the "insert video" button). That will place the tags around what you highlighted.
