Re: Muppet in prison: Sesame street's first character who's dad is in prison

Yes conspiracy theorists, this is some kind of "false flag" by the higher ups to make children comfortable with their parents being hauled off to FEMA camps. I'm just taking a guess at what they'll interject into this thread. I loves me some creative writing, so write away! :P

Just addressing the fact that over two million adults are in prison in the U.S.,
and many have children.

Hey Stilly.

Thanks for the post. For me i have a small nephew age 8 who is actually dealing with this right now. His dad is doing weekends at a correction prison for assault, drinking under the influence, illegally carrying a firearm in his home, and many other charges as well. But due to this being his first offense and the court trying to take notice of his maintaining to hold down a job to pay for child support, this it where the scenario ends thus far.

My Niece put up with a lot over the years she was with him, (terrible physical abuse to the point of hospitalization many times) yet no charges were laid until this last time. He was always decent until he drank, and then it became a matter of false accusations and jealousy that consumed him. Sad really, for he does have a kind heart and would do anything for anyone unless he was drinking. And he does love his son, i know it doe not seem like it, but i have been there and seen it for a long time now as he would die for him if need be.

That is why i am here due to the Sesame Street focus on my nephew. See he (my nephew) was taking it pretty rough and they tried to protect him but he seen a lot in that house. He and my niece both went to counseling and i think that is good for as you know the history in my past; you really need it for it can destroy you if you internalize it to think, your not worthy of love! Then you begin to think, my daddy left cause i wasn't good enough. Sadly, a lot of kids grow up thinking this. They think, if i only had of been a better boy or girl, perhaps dad might have not gotten into as much trouble? Then they blame their selves and it escalates from their into their adulthood. Sometimes even they start into the crime too?

It can lead to many poor choices such as trying to find love too soon as a teen, laying the blame game, hate for yourself, poor health, and a poor self esteem. Its a terrible life and hurt and pain is a terrible way to start off your little life!

I am glad both my niece and nephew received help and counseling for this, although am not sure how productive it will be or fluent it is on Sesame Street, but i understand the motive behind it all.

I think what we have to realize is that anything can be used for either good or bad, all depending on how one is subjected to it. For instance.. I know many Chats on the web that if i were to tell people (Christians) i know in the real world that i participate in a chat group, they would tell me to RUN and it would be the work of the devil itself as many times than not! (in fact in reality, i have and they actually have done so and have had to speak up for CC for their understandings where very off of what CC really was) For we both know that things on the internet can get you into trouble all depending on where you look, and who is doing the looking as well as what your motives are. This is a true statement, but this doesn't mean that the internet is bad or off limits. :)

But we all know this is not the case with CC.. I love and respect CC and it has been the biggest blessing to me as well as so many of my brothers and sisters that i know and the fellowship i receive has helped me greatly. For that i am eternally thankful!!! :)

What i am trying to say is, we need to always be careful not to assume something about someone or something to think we know their mind, when we know not. Scripture says, what Satan does to try to cause harm, God can use to turn to my Good! We also know that if God is for us, who then can ever be against us, know one!

For my nephew, he really loves his dad! He misses him and now the rest of the family is trying to pic up the pieces and still try to show love to him by keeping adult topics with the adults and allowing my nephew to remain a nephew and keep that connections and love alive with his father. I don't mean by deceiving him. For he knows his daddy did bad things, but he doesn't need to know the deep details so it overwhelms him to grow up more now as he is only 8 years old. When he is older, and matures, more can be expressed, but only if he wants. But even still, it should only be done in love showing that his daddy loves him and his daddy had a problem with drinking. For this as a Christian goes with the gossip thing. We are not to tare another down, especially when it will harm the child.

Anyways, thanks again Silly for the thread... I really appreciate it... And that my dear freind is my two bits and a few more... LOL

Love ya

Dotann or for you Stilly Dot a n n hehehehhe I didn't forget!

Sesame Street has become a marketing empire, broadcast in over 100 countries.
They have no choice but to do drastic things, continually, in order to remain relevant.

I'm pretty sure this is just the result of a lot of marketing studies.
Follow the money.
No big deal.

I still recall as a youngster, Amazing Mumford drank Mr. Hooper's milkshake (Or egg creme, or something.) I was overwhelmed with a sense of injustice. I can't wait until they arrest Mumford, I hope the statute of limitations isn't up. That would make a great episode. It would teach the little ones that, while slow do the wheels of justice turn, they still turn.

AND THAT GOES DOUBLE FOR THAT LITTLE THUG ELMO!
