If you enjoy music, do you sing along or do you just bop your head back and forth to mMBop?

What style of music do you listen to?

I love Country, Gospel, Christian, Rock, Minimal rap (if it is respectful I do not listen to that hate mess.)

Garth Brooks (Who I am told I look like from time to time)
Brooks & Dunn
Shania Twain
Travis Tritt

Do I sing to it? You betcha :p

I love the song Believe by Brooks and Dunn.

I used to be in a music group called Always ~N~ 4Eva when I was younger. My voice messed up, so I sing to myself at times I can really sing, but others its WATCH OUT TRAIN WRECK! lol Tourettes really messed my voice up cuz of my vocal tic.

Regardless, I still do my best. I was also in a Church Choir with my sister.

The songs we always sang.

Didn't we just do this?

Copy-paste from the last thread like this:
So... Music...

I'm a bit of a music nerd. Like, my friends know to never, ever bring up the topic around me. I can talk for hours about food, computers or chocolate. I can talk for DAYS STRAIGHT about music. Your eyes will glaze over, guaranteed. Do. Not. EVER. Ask me to recommend a song in a certain style or on a certain topic. More than a week later I'll still be saying, "Oh yeah, here's another song I thought of that might fit what you're looking for."

LISTENING: I have everything in my collection. It's all Christian, but it's everything from bluegrass banjo to rap, from black choir to Jamaican, from old quartets to heavy metal. I can guarantee I will be able to find something you like in my collection, as well as something that will get on your last ever-loving nerve.

SINGING: As my signature line says, I sing at church. I also sing at home. And in my car. And at work, at the supermarket, at Walmart... They do give me a microphone at church, although I don't know if they turn the volume way down on my mic. I'm afraid to ask. :p

MAKING:
I make soundtracks for songs I want to sing at church. Every church's piano player always has a very full plate, so it's just easier than asking them to squeeze in learning my song. I use Reaper digital audio workstation (cheerful name, I know... They had a contest and that name won. Very good program though.) I also use a lot of virtual instruments.
Here's a song by Carl Cartee, "Chasing After You."

Here's a soundtrack I made for that song:

Give it a chance until the chorus at least.

I tried playing guitar lol I failed at it just can’t get my hands right lol I know anyone can play it however, I got big hands so it makes it a challenge.

I do want to learn the piano though. In middle school I learned a little about it in music class but that knowledge had long since been gone.

My wife has tiny hands and has a difficult time getting them around the neck of the guitar to make the cords.

You just need a thicker neck and strings a little wider spaced.

I learned how to play as a child. And the skills I learned then gave me typing skills lasting into the computer age. I don't use a computer often and don't type much. My wife who does, she hunts and pecks all day long. She has to watch her hands most of the time. I don't. (Scientists say something it's about developing neural pathways)

However, I learned to play proficient....but for whatever reason my hands couldn't make music. I like music...I play air guitars and pianos when my songs come on the radio....but deep within me where that talent comes from is dead. As in a missing arm dead. I simply don't own it. I can only carry a tune if I'm handing out CDs or Hymnals.

Oh I sing along!!! I'll harmonize if it's too low or too high. Sometimes I look up karaokes to my favorite songs and sing my heart out. But more often I'm doing it at my keyboard.

I remember Hanson lol. Not my style of music though. Give me Van Halen. Eddie Van Halen was the man. Greatest guitar player of all time. RIP Eddie. Anytime I hear people talking about music, I always get Van Halen in there for some reason.

I like Shania Twain

I like acoustic karaoke (guitar). I play along but dont ask me to do anything solo!
I enjoy singing but I dont have a high range.

haha Hanson...I dont know if they did any other songs but Mmbop would have been one every tween of a certain age knew.

Most music today is more finger tapping and clicky, instruments and sound technology has changed. You arent going to find a full orchestra in churches these days ...nobody has organs anymore, but a lot have a whole sound suite with someone controlling all the sound mixing in the back.

Im like, I want to go to a church where everyone plays harps.

If you can play the piano, thats a talent many can or learn but then dont play

Pianos are just too big an bulky to fit in most homes now. I had a keyboard but I traded for a guitar.
I would like to try other instruments but I need one thats portable. So maybe not a huge drumkit.

Harmonica?
I think I like strings because I just like plucking. I dont do chords I tried but could never remember them so I just finger pluck. Its not how you are supposed to play a guitar but thats how I play. As long as its in tune it doest matter.
