My addiction to porn!

I have a addiction to porn that is consuming my life and marriage. It started recently when I had some time off work and started searching around the internet, next thing you know I am on porn sites getting addicted! Well it has been 3 weeks since that day and its getting worse! Its getting to the point where it is affecting my relationship with my wife sexualy and moraly. Plesea give me some advice to this problem?

Have your wife 'ban' it on your computers where she only can undo it. I overcame smoking and meth at the same time about five yrs ago. I realized they are destructive and interfering with the strength of my connection to God. Also remember our goal is to build up our Spirit and any type of sin will detain us. Seriously? It's the producer's fault for distributing it and the director's fault for making it. I'm sorry you feel addicted to porn, I've never been a fan of it myself. The primary problem with porn, or sedition, or literature which is occult is essentially that people produce it and that most people who see it just choose to ignore it. There is a reason for this, most people who try to report such things just get blamed personally for having that. The problem is that we live in a consumer-oriented society, in which the person who buys is always the original actor. (Ronald Regan called this supply side economics).

The only way to stop whatching porn is to not use a smart phone at all. But you will keep using it because you will reason that you need it for work etc.

I mostly agree. Especially with the first part.

I would conclude that the only way to stop is for that root of sin to be destroyed.

Keep confessing your sins and thanking the Lord that He is faithful and just to forgive your sins and cleanse you from all unrighteousness. It prevents the heart of your soul from becoming stony and bitter.

At a distance this is the best counsel I can offer.

Take up your cross.
If I were your wife and I knew about this I would leave you because it is adultery in the heart.
Jesus said that if your eye causes you to stumble then pluck it out; so stay off the internet and look to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, who is able to present you spotless.

I just thought of a really important question brother... Are you and your wife making sure that your intimate relationship with each other is as it ought to be. The Bible tells us that you ought not to deprive one another so that you don’t get tempted;
1 Corinthians 7:5
Do not deprive each other of sexual relations, unless you both agree to refrain from sexual intimacy for a limited time so you can give yourselves more completely to prayer. Afterward, you should come together again so that Satan won’t be able to tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

Remember we have an enemy roaming around... maybe if you carry on like this, a temptation will be sent your wife’s way... now there’s a sobering thought...

Also seeing sin for what it is and hating it. Sin is a deception, it is destructive... it looks pleasurable at first but it has the power to destroy even the marriage and family. The consequences of this are life-long and devastating to all in the family.

Behavior modification is a psychological approach. The root of his sin is the ratification of a lie from the enemy. When a person feels powerless against sin, there is a spiritual reason at work. The church is embroiled with sin. Not understanding the spiritual implications of it is one reason.

Quick Update



I have taken responsibilities in may hands and decided to stop watching porn! It has been 3 days since the last time I watched it so things are looking good so far but their are things in my mind that trigger me to wanting to watch it! I am fighting the devil in my head on this drug called pornography! I have also told my wife about my demons and she is also praying for me and helping me out!

If you don’t mind me asking how did you confess this to your wife? I’ve struggled with this sin in the past and for me it started as early as 13 years old with a jc pennys underwear and bra Catalog and spiraled out of control from there to 32 when God finally took me out of it. I got really good at concealing and hiding it…. Too good and it has left a trail of shame everywhere I’ve went. The lust and soul ties haunted me for years. when I surrendered to Jesus, I confessed my sin to God and believe I earnestly repented. I’ve been free from the addiction for about 13 months minus one incident that was a mistake and Holy Spirit was very disruptive about convicting me of wrongdoing. Feels like God is nudging me to say the confession to him wasn’t enough but I also need to own up to my hidden sin that I committed against my wife. How does one do this in humility and have the best shot at keeping the marriage intact? I brought that sin into the marriage and hid it for 8 long years. I’m well aware it’s all my fault no matter how the conversation or consequences turn out. I have no excuses for my sinful behavior. I feel I’m responsible to shoulder my earthly consequences no matter what it is. I’ve never had to confess anything major to my wife before beyond a simple apology for being rude and insensitive a couple times. Any advice?
