Trying to guess why something like losing your Joshua happened is just that – a guessing game. My parents died when I was sixteen and I still don’t know why, but I do know that God was with me through the pain. A verse that meant a lot to me is I John 3:1, “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are![SUP]” [/SUP]God promised to be my daddy since mine was no longer on earth. Remember, too, that the church is the Bride of Christ? A verse for you might be Hosea 2:19-20, “And I will take you for my wife forever; I will take you for my wife in righteousness and in justice, in steadfast love, and in mercy. [SUP]20 [/SUP]I will take you for my wife in faithfulness; and you shall know the Lord.” Just as you and Joshua were devoted to each other, now as you grieve him as a future husband, become devoted to God, your true husband. Get to know Him and let Him love you fully. I pray that in your deep pain, you let God comfort you. I know He can because He comforted me.
