What the Lord told me to do when my daughter was deep into drugs and out of God:
1. Take a scripture of what God promises to do - and bind that scripture to her life. (Whatsoever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven).
Each day a new verse from the bible. Begin with Ps. 23 - verse by verse. There are many verses having to do with children.
2. Immediately praise and thank God that he is DOING THIS - that the prayer began to be answered as you asked. During the day do not look at what child does or says - keep your eyes only on the truth of God's power upon her life. Keep your praises going all the time for that very specific verse you bound to her life.
3. Write the verse on a piece of paper and put it on the refrigerator where I could see it - it keeps my mind on His power more than my daughter's weakness. And every time I saw it, I was again to give thanks that it was being done.
4. No matter who or what happened to her life, I was to give thanks for it - it was all a part of what God was going to use.
It only took a little while before I began to see results - that is a wonderful story - she actually heard God's voice audibly spoken to her "--------what are you doing?" one day when she was wasted on drugs. Immediately, she was sober, and delivered that very day from them. Soon after she gave her life to the Lord.
What the Lord showed me is that I was in partnership with Him - I only took up the sword of the Spirit (the Word of God), and touched her with it - and my praises silenced the enemy from taking control (Ps. tells us that praise silences the enemy).
As a mother, I was not helpless, but could do much with my binding scripture to her and then much praising. God is enthroned upon the praises of His people, and that means He is very active in them.
