hi guys :) my name is arianna. my dad is a pastor of a really small church plant, and because of it we have a very small worship team with even smaller talent :) there are a few members of the worship team who aren't exactly living a lifestyle that someone in a leadership position should be living at the moment.

personally, i believe that leaders of a congregation should follow the criteria laid out in I Timothy (sober-minded, a man of one wife, who rules his own household, slow to anger, etc.). I know my dad believes in this passage also, but I think that he is so desperate for a good worship team that he is not thinking as clearly as he normally does.

i want to bring this up to him, but i don't feel like its my place. i dont want to seem disobedient, or as though i know more about it than he does, or anything like that. i respect him very much and he has been a wonderful example for me my entire life.

should i say anything? or let God deal with it :)?

If it were me, I'd come on the line of suggestion........a suggestion is simply a suggestion.....what he does with it is up to him ;)........

I think you should talk to him.
It affects the whole church. So it’s very important that he is doing the right thing.
Holiness is very important in our worship of God.

My question is how do you know their lives are not living up to what God says? How do you know their talent or skills are just what The Father wants for that church? Think about what you said and how you said it. They are not up to what you think is right, but did you ask God about it?

If the people are truly living in sin,It should be brought to your dad's attention.If he already knows it,then he should consider what is more important;a big church with ungodly people or a small church that truly lives by His word.Be subtle when you talk to him,tell him your feelings.He will understand. God bless

cookie because the bible SAYS what God wants in leadership- its not a guessing game. and i know for a fact that they are lacking significantly.

Everyone on here has good ideas. you should do what is right..
But make sure you have theFacts and then talk to your dad.
or maybye he see all these things. Holy Spirit tells us many things......

IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU KNOW TO BE FACT, PRAY BEFORE YOU TALK TO YOUR DAD. DADDYS ARE WONDERFUL, ASK THE HOLY SPIRIT TO GO BEFORE YOU MAYBE YOUR DAD IS STRUGGLING WITH IT ALSO. AND YOUR WORDS MAY JUST BE HIS CONFERMATION. OUT OF THE MOUTHS OF BABES THE TRUTH SPEAKS(PARAPHRASING) . IT'S UP TO HIM TO FIX THE SITUATION UNDER THE GUIDENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. IT NEEDS TO BE DONE IN LOVE, MAYBE DO AWAY WITH A PRAISE TEAM FOR NOW UNTIL THE RIGHT PEOPLE GOD SENDS COMES FORTH. YOUR DAD IS THER SHEPHERD OF THE FLOCK HE IS RESPONSIBLE. HE IS THE ONE TO ANSWER.

Hi Arianna... maybe just very nicely tell your dad that you don't want to be judgmental about these people, and you don't want to say this to other people, but you're just telling him that the worship leaders lifestyles seem this way and that way to you, and seems inconsistent with what you see in 1 Tim 3 and Titus 1. Then maybe ask "Am I being too judgmental?" :D (Then there's no faulting of him, and he'll be inclined to tell you that you're not at fault for judging them, then ... well then you've lured him into agreeing with you.) :D This way hopefully you don't offend him in any way, and it should make him think.

Anyway it's wonderful that you love and respect your dad like that. I hope my daughter will be the same. :)
