I told my 9 year old son this. The utter amazement on his face.
Then he said: I do not agree with that. It's not fair. Parents should not be dictators. That's not good.

That's hilarious. You think a nine year old knows good parenting?

My mother is 80. She said: awwwww she just needs some love.
She's a mom to a lot of older women in church.

I am loved, I know that. And I don't think wearing school uniform after school is that unusual, although I know not everyone has to wear it properly at home. My sister told me that American's finish school really early but we don't. I get home at like 4.30 or later if I do anything after class. So on school nights I normally do homework before eating then it is almost time for bath and bed.

It does. Everyone is on your back all the time! There are way too many rules, at home and at school. You are too young to do what you want and too old to be a child. And this is a picture of the dress I had to wear for dinner last night :(

Well, that's a pretty dress. At least be grateful you HAVE clothes to wear. Some kids don't. I endured 6 years of having to wear dresses and skirts in school. If I could do it, you can do it. :) You may not like it, but for the next few years, you have to wear dresses or skirts. Once you're 18 and move out, you can wear whatever you want.

But I am grateful for that, we all are. I am not starving or cold or thirsty or sick. I just don't like pink

She does know I don't like pink but she thinks its cute. I hate being called cute

Machiavelli, many very conservative people think it is better for girls to dress like girls, and wear dresses or skirts. But also her mother seems to think it's better for Fran to dress proper. School uniform during homework, etc. Which I can understand, because when children dress up, they are out of their comfort zone and more likely to keep an orderly composure.

It's too bad your mother picks your clothes though Fran. I've known some people who do, and people who don't. My mother didn't pick what we wore from the wardrobe even though me and my sisters were raised to wear dresses. And actually I still wear dresses by personal choice. But anyway, it's just the way it is. Nobody is going to have the perfect mom, or the perfect dad. Everybody does things differently.

And I know. The whole cute thing. XD When it comes right down to it you are dressing for other people. To present yourself in a way that leaves a positive impression when people see you. If you look at it that way maybe it won't be so frustrating when people like your looks and call you cute.

If it's about them putting you down and making you feel little, just know that by not being bothered by this you are actually acting older. : )

I've noticed a trend with family and friends in my life.

My friends whose family was strict and overbearing did what they were told. They essentially grew into adulthood without any experience of making decisions for themselves because their parents did it for them. So, the second they get out in the real world and have a taste of freedom, is the second they fall off the deep end. How could anyone expect less when they never had to make any personal decisions for themselves their entire lives?

I've also noticed that parents who trust their parenting and thus trust their children to make the right decisions on age related decisions, branch out into the world with the tools to thrive in society. They were prep'd their entire life, given the ability to make some important decisions for themselves to the point they are full grown adults and completely take the reigns from their parents.

tbh really depends on what u did; I did something really bad and my parents took my phone so I have no contact with any of my friends. So tbh if ur sorry and fix ur ways maybe they'll change:confused:
