So I just got a call from this guy wanting to sell me construction supplies like bits and blades and whatnot. As he was giving me his sales pitch I thought to myself that I can handle this one of two ways. I could either just tell the guy I'm not interested....some of them get aggressive btw and sometimes you just have to hang up. Anyway...I opted to tell the guy the truth and this is what I told him.

I said to him, I'm really sorry to interrupt but I'm not really in a place in my life where I can make decisions like buying sawzall blades and whatnot......and there are days I can barely handle all the big things being thrown at me....like my tax bill for example. I said to him that I appreciated his call and that I didn't want to waste any of his valuable time with someone who wasn't gonna buy in the end.

He was very nice and he said, "don't work to hard out there". Haha!

I just wanted to share this as evidence to some of you who think I am this evil ogre with a wart on my forehead.
 
Dude, all i see on your forehead is a tennis ball (avatar). Keep being yourself, there's so few of you out there.

So, I got a wart on my forehead. My wife thinks its cute.

While I disagree with you about Trump ( No, I do not support Clinton), stay true to your convictions.
In the end, God's will will be done in the life of His children.
 
I feel awful now! I hung up on a charity call the other night because the dude hung up on me a few months back.

A good reminder of how we are to represent Christ at all times. :)

I have to remind myself to smile when I talk to them and honestly when I talk to people on the phone in general. Did you know that the act of smiling actually produces the chemical in your brain that induces a happy feeling virtually instantaneously?

Yes there have been studies that prove that people can actually tell when someone is smiling over the phone. :)


And I'm surprised you don't screen your calls. I thought everyone did.

No one thinks that you're an ogre or have warts.






Although, sometimes l do wonder if you're a robot sent from the future to stop Hillary and protect John Conner.

I've been getting messages from my old church. For those of you who don't know me on here I played on the worship team there for more than a decade. Whenever I get a message from someone there I feel the anxiety rise up in me. I finally told the pastor there that I always considered that church my family and that when I was struggling, I didn't feel that way....and that now when they message me asking me how I'm doing I feel like they are opportunistic acquaintances who only want me for my skills. They don't really care "how I'm doing". I'll admit, I'm a bit jaded about church culture and all the phoniness contained therein. I'm not bitter tho....I've just developed an advanced radar system that can pick out, what is and isn't real.
