PHILIPPIANS 4

17 Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.

18 But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well pleasing to God.

FRUITFUL ACCOUNTS

Paul is giving beautiful instructions... on giving.

This is a church, that made Paul very happy, as they blessed Paul time and time again.

Some people to whom you give, are not asking for gifts or donations. Hudson Taylor in China in the 1860's had needs and the post took 6 months to come, but every need was met, exactly on time. He did not ask for gifts, but God supplied every need at just the right time.

When you give a gift to the work of God, it is a sweet smell in the nostrils of God. Paul did not want a gift because he wanted a gift, but he wanted that gift to be in their account, and he wanted their account to abound and grow. This isn't an account that grows by putting money in, but by taking money out.

The next time you give a gift to the Lord's work, remember that it is well pleasing to God, and it has a sweet aroma to the receiver, but also to God.

Heavenly bank accounts are different than earthly ones; the more you take out and give to others for the glory of God, the more the account grows.

How fruitful and abounding is your heavenly bank account?

God bless you,

Matthew 6:19-21
Your heart is where and your treasure is where.
God bless you.
