Hi! My name is James. I had spent my whole life up to my 15th birthday believing whole-heartedly in every word of Christian teaching: creationism, the divinity of Jesus, etc. Then I started to want to disprove what I didn't believe in --to give myself reason to believe in what I believed in . . .

This led to me doing ALOT of research into evolution, the 'big bang,' atheism, etc. I became interested in disproving them all. A year later, after a year of the aforementioned research into books and websites, I confronted my pastor who practically said "don't ask questions like that." I was shocked and stopped going to church that moment.

A few months later I resolved to throw all this 'God' nonsense out the window and convert to Deism. (all without the knowledge of my parents of course) But there too I saw flaws and no more than two years ago I became an atheist. I'm now 18 and my parents don't know still. I'm afraid of making my mom cry.

The reason I'm on this website is fortify and test all my assumptions to back-up my reasons for thinking what I do. Feel free to question. :)
 
So you came to this site to confirm your disbelief? Yeah, i can see you won't last long here. This isn't a debate site.
 
Do you have any Holy Spirit conviction? I am sure you know he is real in your heart, if you are his, he will bring you back .
The way God creates is beyond our thinking and very amazing, not to mention, he came in the flesh to reconcile us
back to himself. I hope you listen to him and not people, they can stray you away, he is the alpha and omega and besides
him there is no God.

as I am of unicorns or the FSM.
 
ive also tried alot of research by myself and not telling my parents about it and even my friends but its to find out what am i really going to believe in since i was a Catholic christian before and i started doubted about the faith.. people helped me, born again Christians) but its really the word of God, the bible, that helped me see the truth and changed me. Truth hurts at first because i used too love my former life but it really set me free.
Ive discovered that when u really seek the Lord,ask and pray with all your heart, He will help you since He is the Way the Truth and the Life.

even evolution is a belief since yes they are facts or theories but no one has really seen and confirmed that they were right,right?

If its all about seeing and believing then we can never believe on bing bang theories or evolution either since we have not seen them. Focus your eyes on Jesus!

What does any of your research do to cause problems with your belief? Why would an unlearned pastor cause you to have problems with anymore than the unlearned pastor himself? How did you manage to throw *all things God* out, even Deism? What flaws?

I don't understand your thinking on these things yet or why you made, what appear to be, such brash leaps as a young person. My expectation is that you simply don't care for the ways of God and you wish to engage in things that have been spoken against. In other words Jesus said his yoke was easy but it wasn't easy enough.
 
I have to ask the same thing as Ecclesiastik. As much as we may disagree with a site member they are made in Christ's image and deserve to voice their opinions.
 
I just re-read Jredfox4111 's post. I also knew a friend who when she asked questions of her pastor she was told "don't ask those questions". This I feel is hurtful to say to anyone.
 
You simply have failed to do your homework. Have you read or listened to Dr. Jonathan Sarfati, have you read the book Without Excuse by Werner Gitt, or any of Dr. Gary Parker's books? If not, why don't you do a bit more studying. I have studied evolution vs creation for 40 years and can assure you evolution is nothing but a RELIGION with a belief in anti-Creator, anti-God. There is nothing scientific about the first life coming from non-life. That is impossible because of the code and information code NEVER comes from matter or energy (you would know this from Dr. Gitt if you studied). So where did life come from or what did the information come from. If you believe matter and energy created the DNA code you do so by a blind religious faith not from science because in every case we know codes and coded information only come from intelligence and this code came from a genius of genius. And have you read the RATE studies about radiometric carbon 14 in every sample of coal and diamonds found. You are confused and have allowed Satan to lie to you. But you can repent and come back to the King and Creator of the Universe Jesus Christ. I will help you. Ask me some things and I will help you. You simply have been listening to religious preachers of evolution who tell good stories with little science.
