All too often Christians can be so very judgemental. Especially to those who are not Christians. We somehow think that we are better than everyone else and forget to show love, mercy, compassion. We forget what horrible mess God saved us out of and look upon others who don't have it all together as people who are worthless and not important. This is certainly hypocrisy. We as Christians should try to lend an ear to the unsaved and even to the saved who are going through trials in life. Sometimes if we even don't have the right answer it's just a help to listen people, to hear what they have to say. Most of the time they have no one to care for them and instead of giving of ourselves to them we are all too busy with our selfish lives. What Christians tend to forget is that Jesus loves the outcasts, the drug addicts, the abused, etc. He gave His life for them! I tell you the truth that when I was in the world I had some better conversations with a person sitting next to me at the bar then I have had with some of these self righteous religious people. At least they were real and honest about their lives. It seems like a lot of Christians anymore seem to want be right about everything and argue more than show the love of God. We all have issues and life, myself included. And honesty and being genuine about ourselves is the best approach.

Lord make me a vessel of love for the lost! Make me pure so they can see you in me and and have hope. Take away any and all hypocrisy and lies from my heart. Change my heart, and let it always be speaking the truth. Forgive me for being self centered, and remember the good I have shown to others, that I may walk in that love continually. Let me always walk in your love and in your truth Lord Jesus, Amen.

People of ANY religion can be self-righteous. Even people without any religion can be self-righteous. Those people will one day very soon, be dealt with by God for their actions. We each choose how to live our lives, how to act and speak toward others, etc, etc. Do people on here tend to judge others for what they believe or disbelieve, or how they live their lives or whether they have tattoos or whatnot? You bet they do!

We are ALL guilty of that, myself included. Maybe we all need to recite the prayer you put in your OP. :) We are made in God's image and we need to try to always reflect that. We need to think and speak and act as Jesus did, not in condemnation of others, but in support of them, no matter what religion, lifestyle, etc, they may have. We are all sinners and hypocrits, and anyone who says they are'nt is a liar. Without God, we are nothing and we have nothing. Who are we to judge others when Jesus says not to?

I believe as a Christian God's love should be extended to all people. The apostle Paul talked about love, how if we have all kinds of knowledge and gifts but no love, we have nothing. I also believe Christians should uphold the standard of righteousness so that others will see and learn what it means to live Godly. Hopefully when a non-christian sees Christ within us they too will become convicted and repent of their sins.

With that being said a Christian should never accept any lifestyle that is not Godly. If a Christian mingles with the world then their walk will become corrupt. Jesus said to come out from among them and be ye seperate. The Word also says friendship with this world is enmity with God. We should be examples to the world and use patience and long suffering towards them, but we cannot become as them. We must lead them to Christ through the wisdom of the Holy Spirit. That is why it is so important for a Christian to live a pure life and not be double minded. If we as Christians live with one foot in the world and one foot in the Kingdom then we are lukewarm. And Jesus said He would reject a lukewarm Christian. In today's lukewarm society it is easy to become worldy minded and grieve the Holy Spirit.

When we become born again we have two natures within us. Often times the flesh nature seems to get the better of us and we fail God. However I strongly feel that the more a person denies their fleshly wants and desires, then the inner man is strengthened and the outer man becomes a smaller voice. But if we give place to sin, then the Holy Spirit will not be at work within us as He should, and He is grieved. That is why the bible says to put to death the flesh, and also it's lusts. I have learned this in my own life. If you have a close, disciplined walk with God you will be less likely to sin. If you take your eyes off Christ, and the Word, then sin seems to gain easier access into the heart. The bible says to put on the whole armor of God, that we may be able to stand.

So every Christian today should walk in humility, meekness, patience, and love. We should get everything away from us that would cause us to stumble. We need to stay disciplined, be sober, pray, and not be deceived by the things of this world. Jesus is coming back for a people who are setting their hearts and minds on Him, and nothing else. God should be first and foremost in all Christian's lives. We should be faithful. Our marriage is to Him. God has shown me areas in my life I need to change. And I'm thankful He chastens me with His love. And I heard a man once say if we don't give up on God, He won't give up on us. So no matter what, don't ever give up! If you fail Him everyday, get it right with Him. Repent and trust in His blood. That's what I am going to do. And don't let guilt condemn you. That is a lie from the enemy. Be honest with God, He loves an honest heart!
