neat. no Atlantis sub cruise anymore. if you go, you'll wonder why you didn't go sooner. i'll suggest staying at the ritz-carlton on great bay, southeast area.
No Atlantic sub-cruise!!
I just may cancel my vacation there!

And yes,,,the Ritz-Carlton on Great Bay.
I do so enjoy staying at 2 star hotels!

Historical sight - mm there's history everywhere...I quite liked the Blarney Stone, in Ireland
Beach - my local beach Bethells/Te Henga (only 15-20 minutes drive away)
Restaurant - Secret Thai Garden, though Sa'On actually has tastier dishes. Though I've never been to Thailand, I can still eat at Thai restaurants.

quite right! i used to dine at bangkok thai restaurant on wolf road, albany.

yes, albany new york. they started that maybe 20 to 25 years ago.
Ok, I was thinking of a different Albany in Australia..funny they all have roundabouts in Albany.
Even the Albany in Auckland, NZ has them. Like more than usual.

I went to Byron Bay for a vacay once. It was nice though some people find it a bit hippy.
I could have gone to Surfer's Paradise, and done all the theme parks but I just wanted something different and more peaceful.
I stayed at the Beach Hotel, of course.

The food - I remember trying Moreton Bay bugs. They are like a cross between a lobster and a crab.
The history - well it used to be a whaling station/area. But now Byron Bay is like a chill out beach, with beautiful white sand.

just seeing this now. my greatness! i remember some poor people near us when wee were kids who ate bugs!. chocolate covered ants was a local delicacy! send me some moreton bay bugs, i'll let you know how scrumptious they are!!! hahahaha

you must be thinking of another hotel, the ritz is a 5 star hotel.
My sister worked as a pool side waitress at the ritz Carlton in Newport Beach I think it was, here in Orange County.

It’s most definitely a 5 star hotel.

Most memorable was staying at princess kaiulani hotel in waikiki in 2019.

It was my last real vacation/grandmothers funeral.

I received the biggest inheritance yet, right before that and lived like a king for a few weeks in Hawaii.

It was my tenth time going to Oahu, I believe.

If you like sweets, try their sour candy with li hing mui powder on it or anything with li hing mui powder on it...even their Hawaiian shaved ice with li hing mui powder.

Also, if you lay on the beach alone, make sure to keep your flip flops touching you, so you can feel if someone tries to steal them.

It’s changed A LOT since then. I pray you both will be safe. (There are a lot of people selling drugs and themselves, on the streets there)

I probably shouldn’t say this in a public forum but when I was last there, in 2009, I went to a bar by myself, blacked out and woke up out of the black out to a man sexually abusing me.

I highly recommend being very on your toes, sober minded, with your eyes wide open while you are there.

But 2019 was great, since I no longer drink alcohol or use drugs.

I pray for you and your wife’s God given protection, everywhere you go.

holy heavens, there wasn't any of that when we were there in 89'! i'll rethink this. maybe we'll vacate somewhere else. i quit alcohol last summer. no sense in being mindful of a vacation like that. thank you for your prayers. speaking of vacations, my wife is coming home tonight from her 2nd vacation this year. i miss her much!!! & i arranged a surprise for her, lot's of flowers decorating the exterior of the home! we'll review & rationalize this oahu vacation. our travel agent is like family so we have confidence in a right decision. our estimated cost of a Hawaiian vacation is $95,000 & we certainly don't want concerns to live with. thanks for the advice YouOnlyLiveTwice.

I think we will stay in a hotel in the city, hopefully it will be 5 star!! Might be able to hear the opera from the Opera House and see the harbour.
