I always wonder why was William Tyndale burned at the stake(strangled) when King James Council used William Tyndale hard work translating the English Bible for the common people. Executed this man then used William Tyndale translation for the King James Bible. The enemy who hunted this man down like a dog were religious leaders of Papal.Why hunt to man down because the religious leaders did not desired for the common, uneducated, and poor folks to have the Word of God. William Tyndale was not the first person to translate the Word to English because the first person was John Wycliffe. To make sure John Wycliffe was dead the religious had his bones dug up and spread over the ocean. Why were these two men feared by Papal? I wonder was John Wycliffe mentoring William Tyndale? Why was the Papacy executing people when the Papal is the Vicar? The Papacy has much in common with the High Priest Caiaphas of Jewish Faith.
In most denominational groups, things are not much different. There are many, so called, church leaders that stay away from certain passages. These leaders fear the flock learning the truth. Organized "Religion" has been more about control of the flock instead of spreading the gospel. It is not just the Papacy.
Deuteronomy 8:3 (NASB95)
3 “He humbled you and let you be hungry, and fed you with manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that He might make you understand that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord.
Every word that comes from God. Even the words that denominational pastors don't want to teach.
2 Timothy 2:15 (NASB95)
15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.
In other words, Study Yourself.
1 Thessalonians 5:20–21 (NASB95)
20 do not despise prophetic utterances.
21 But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good;
Again, some person or preacher my be giving false doctrine. check it yourself.
IMHO: When the people, of a particular church, do not carry their own Scriptures inside, Something is very wrong. Too much trust is placed on words coming from the pulpit and teachers.
