I pray it would actually have the desired effect, but, if History is any judge, it will do little, if anything to unify America. The Church can not even unify! How can we expect unbelievers to?
Not to throw a wrench in what seems like a good intention but I don't see how this country can unite. We had a prayer on our church capitol steps one evening. One lady stepped forward and started talking about unity in the country and how that was the most important thing. She seemed upset, almost angry. I didn't say what I wanted to say. But as I stood listening to her I thought "she just doesn't get it,she's blind to it all." There is no way a Christian can unite with the progressives of today. Unity is a wonderful thought, but not possible. If you watched the presidents SOTU you could clearly see this. Progressives are for socialism, abortion on demand, gay marriage, gender confusion just to name a few. The feminists are so anti-male that they're now calling them "toxic". No,there is no way a Christian can unite with that attitude, nor vote for such evil. There cannot be unity under these circumstances.
I don't see where anyone said anything about holding grudges. I don't. But I do stand up for the truth of God's Word. That doesn't always make me a lot of friends.
Colossians 3: 13,14 - "Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, you do also.”
