I need to cast out a demon from me. And probably many others with it. It's a demon of shame and guilt. I have had the problem from my childhood. I have had deliverance from demons before, and also done the deliverance with God without help. I was hoping I can get the word of God here about it, and also prayer.

Did your parents put you through guilt trips when you were young? Demons can take advantage of that.

I will pray for you!'

Here's the verse that God brought to mind:

Isaiah 54:17 no weapon forged against you will prevail,
and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
and this is
their vindication from me,”
declares the Lord.

1 Jn 4: 4: Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
For those who turned unto the Lord with repentance when called, see the above verse. The faithful cannot be possessed, rather think of it a being demonized or attacked. It is the demon's legal right to attack us according to the sins that we've committed.
Mt 16: 18: And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Gates are a defensive weapon.
Jas 1: 13-15: Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Temptations originate in our own minds by the lusts we've trained ourselves to indulge in or by the evil one's minion who have the right to attack us by sins we've committed. Just having those things pop up in our thoughts are not sins, but thinking about them, imagining doing them is a sin and keeps us in bondage to them, but...
1 Cor 10: 3-6: For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
Who is able to stop thinking about what we're told not to think on. When we're told, "don't look down," the first thing we do is look down. So rather than striving to not think on something, rather think on scripture because...
Jam 4: 7-8: Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
The evil one's minion will not only flee from you as their ego can't handle being resisted, but they will also learn, over time, to stop tempting blatantly if it continually leads the one they're attacking to turn to the scriptures; or to...
Phil 4: 8: Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Remember the war against temptation is fought in our own minds by resisting enticements!
Rom 8: 6 NAS: For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace,
Rom 12: 2: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Our battle in the war for holiness is to change how we think about the things that come to our minds.

This takes belief to God in risen Son Jesus, without doubting. The problem being in our first born flesh nature, gets in the way and trips us all up easily. Until one see they are dead to sin by Son's done work for them on that cross for them. (Romans 6) That can and does take time in exercising this truth in you by you in belief to: it is true God did take away the sin of the world for us in Son Jesus to us on that cross for us, over 2,000 years ago now. (John 1:29)

John 19:30 "It is done" (finished) what got/is finished? Having to do the Law perfect as is taught by religion, Jesus did that for you, it is done. He said it John 19:30, "It is Finished". He also said in John 16:33 he has overcome death for us all. Believe that or not! Whoever doubts stops themselves from getting established in the whole truth, God won, wins for you through you in risen Son with God-Father the Holy Spirit living through you in God's Spirit and Truth (John 4:23-24), you no longer live, God lives through you (Luke 21:14-15). You as Paul said I die daily to be alive in Father's Spirit and Truth of risen Jesus for me
I am crucified with Christ, I no longer live Galatians 2:20

Exercise these truths through you as you trust God to do as needed to do through you. Unless you are willing to God, it will not happen!
So, therefore this is between God and you, I trust God to cast it out of you, do you?
Again it is between God and you and your motive in asking as James talks about in James, you ask you do not receive, might it be you ask amiss?
God is the one and only one that knows truth, and will give freely, yet will not yet give to those that will misuse his gift.
So we have today congregations of people, stealing, killing and destroying one another over gifts to Get and do not get. Except the rewards from others, but not God. Feeling oh, so good about self, not good y'all.
There is much depth in the truth of Flesh verses God, and only God can reveal them in God's timing not anyone else's ever, thanks be freed by God for you to rest and relax in the done work of Son for you as risen to .live through you too. Not as this world does that, as God did and does ever since day seven in creation Hebrews 4:9-13

Thank you all for telling me these things. What I must do now is, do it. Like Jesus said about the man looking in a mirror. Yes I think I can get a handle on this, and fix it.

I think you need to understand that there is no condemnation in Christ. Condemnation is of the devil. If your conscience condemns you for having sinned, then acknowledge it, receive the cleansing of Christ's unending forgiveness and move on not listening to more condemnation on the matter

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1

I suspect, and according to the Textus Receiptus that "who walk after the Spirit and not after the flesh," should be added to that verse.
But if that ins't accepted, lets look at Rom 8: 4:
That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Good to hear. Practice doing that and you will do well.

I have issues with coffee too. I like the taste so I started taking sips to get the taste and then spitting it out into a cup like guys at work who chew do. Works well

It's generally accepted by most bible scholars that the last part of Romans 8:1 in the KJV is an interpolation from verse 4 and doesn't belong there, which makes sense because positionally there is no condemnation in Christ and righteousness is fulfilled in us when we walk after the spirit as verse 4 states. Many if not most bibles omit that phrase. Later verses support this conclusion.

Who accuses against the chosen of God? God is the one justifying. Who is the one condemning? Christ is the one having died, and more also being arisen, who also is at the right of God, who also intercedes for us. Romans 8:33-34

You are right to want to learn God's Word, which is how we grow and become mature Christians who are able to resist Satan by being filled with the Holy Spirit. Luke 11:1-36 might be a good place to begin, followed by James 1:1-25 & 4:1-10. What follows is my understanding of spiritual dynamics.

At the moment of repentance/acceptance, God’s Holy Spirit enters their spiritual hearts (RV 3:20), uniting them with God as heavenly Father (RM 8:9) and identifying them with Christ’s worldwide/catholic body or church (CL 1:18). This manifold event is called spiritual birth or baptism (1CR 12:13). We can infer that this dynamic occurs also for pre-NT believers, because there is no salvation outside of Christ’s ekklesia or church (ACTS 4:12). Partial knowledge of God’s Word will limit ability to cooperate with Him, so there is a need for evangelism or learning the full Gospel (MT 28:18-20, cf. ACTS 18:24-26) as well as for lifelong discipleship or spiritual training (2TM 3:16-17).

The relationship between Believers/Christians and God may be viewed as having three stages (mentioned in Part II). The first stage is the moment of conversion or repentance (ACTS 20:21) just mentioned, when a person “plugs in” to the power of God’s Holy Spirit by accepting Christ Jesus as Lord. Because a person’s commitment to Christ is in accordance with God’s perfect will and the response of yielding to His calling (1TM 2:3-4), the moment of spiritual baptism fulfills the command of Ephesians 5:18 to be filled (cooperate fully) with the Spirit. For Christians, this stage occurred in the past historically and grammatically; we were saved when we repented and accepted Christ.

The second stage is spiritual growth, which is also referred to as maturation (EPH 4:13), discipleship (ACTS 14:22) or sanctification (2THS 2:13). Grammatically it is present pro-gressive, and historically it is the process of being saved now. This stage has two phases: instability and maturity. Although a new Spirit-filled convert has access to all of the power he/she needs for loving like Christ (EPH 3:16-19), no one attains immediate “perfection” by remaining filled with the Holy Spirit forever (PHP 3:12). Instead, the combination of temptations, ignorance and the old selfish nature results in immature saints committing their first post-conversion sin(s). Then he/she no longer is spiritual or filled with the Holy Spirit but rather is acting like unsaved unbelievers (1CR 3:1). This “venial” type of error differs from the “mortal” or damning sin of unbelief or apostasy (rejecting God’s Lordship, cf. JM 1:15 & Part II).

As soon as a new Christian realizes a sin was committed, he/she should confess it (1JN 1:9) rather than compound it by trying to hide it or cover it up like Adam and Eve did (GN 3:7-8). Then God will forgive, and the saint will again be in a Spirit-filled or spiritual condition. This spiritual flip-flopping might happen once a day, or it could occur several times in an hour. While this instability may be bad, failure to confess promptly is much worse, because it results in chain-sinning or back-sliding. This condition is also referred to as being carnal/worldly (1CR 3:1) or prodigal (LK 15:13) if it continues for weeks or years.

Unfortunately, some people may not appreciate the process of being renewed morally or as Paul says (in RM 12:2) of being “transformed by the renewing of your mind”, perhaps because it involves admitting sins or having “guilt trips”. It is not guilt that is bad; rather whatever one is doing that makes one feel guilty. Guilt is like a warning light on a car’s instrument panel that lets one know something is wrong. Until we have the wisdom to welcome God’s “guilt trips” like we do warning lights, we will never feel the satisfaction of becoming a new and improved version of ourselves. Hopefully, we will never reach the point where we are so callous that we experience no guilt when we do wrong. Warnings are good!

That's interesting! How long do you keep the coffee in your mouth before you spit it out?

I was thinking about extra food consumption too with the upcoming holidays starting with Thanksgiving. But that feels too much like wasting food? What do you think?

About a second or two.

Are you saying to do the same with food? Whatever works. You could also try chewing real, real slow so you're eating less in the same amount of time

Christians can resist Satan (JM 4:7), such as the devil's temptation to abuse drugs and become addicted, but if biblical demons refer to mental illnesses, then a miracle/cure may be needed.

Gal 2: 11-14:
But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed. For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision. And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation. But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?
Here was Peter, the apostle unto the circumcision, was to be blamed... Tell me, what's the difference between being condemned or being blamed? Makes me want to ask, what would you call, Jesus denying a person to our heavenly Father, because that person denied Jesus before men as per Mt 10: 33:
But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

Or how about in 1 Cor 8: 4-12:
As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one. For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled. But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse. But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak. For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols; And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died? But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.
Wouldn't the man with the weak conscience be condemned by his own conscience? Not to mention the brother who by wounding the brother with a weak conscience committed a sin against the brethern and therefore sinned against Christ.

And again in Gal 5: 1-
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
Surely, having Christ become of no effect and falling from grace will be a condemnation!

And finally, in Mt 12: 31-32:
Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
Surely this will bring condemnation!

All of the above examples have nothing to do with the evil one and will never be something done by someone who is walking after the Spirit!!!

Jas 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

2Ti 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Whatever the case may be whether people gave you doubt, or coming from yourself, it is coming from you whether real, or imagined.

What advice can we give you but allow God to deal with it and quit worrying.

Is it a demon or coming from you, and why would you let it bother you saying it is a demon of guilt and shame if you have nothing to be guilty and ashamed about.

What are prayers going to do if the power is in yourself to deal with it.

Rebuke the devil and be done with it, but I tend to think it is of you like a lot of people.
