A lot of you know that I love to draw scripture, and I've been wanting to draw (in a simple way) something that would portray the breath of God. Any ideas?

How interesting, to capture the breath of God, very ambitious. I imagine it would be cool as moonlight, warm as sunlight, smell like gardenias, and feel like Palm fronds, unless He were angry. In that case, I wouldn't want or know.
Good ideas here - I'm sort of thinking along the lines of movement. And the scripture Job 33:4 - The breath of the Almighty gives me life.

AMBITIOUS INDEED!!!
when I think of God's breath, I'm feeling water and the power of the sea -
waves crashing with salt spray flying heaven-ward.

There are a lot of pictures here - love them all. Will keep me busy trying these different ideas. This is what I came up with in a few min. last night. The other ideas will take some time.
I must forget waves crashing with salt spray showing the power of the sea - do you know how hard that is to do?
I think I go for the simple things not only in art - but in life in general.

then the LORD God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life,
and the man became a living creature.
(Genesis 2:7)
what about using a black/white/conte, lifeless general composition, with color entering a figure's nose, tinting the figure gradually from the head down, with the colored sections of the body taking on an animated pose; the rest drooping & hollow?
anyway i am thinking that using a contrast of color & paleness can help portray the aspect of "life"
as just kind of general advice (though i believe you are already doing this), i'd concentrate & meditate on the scriptures & think about what imagery comes to mind while you think about the Word.
besides the creation of mankind, there's also this passage:
Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.”
And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit."
(John 20:21-22)

I am doing watercolor, so it looks quite different printed out...but this time I used a real feather. And the verse that Posthuman posted.
And the idea of a feather was great. Thank you GodIsGlorious.

Crossnote - I love the idea you had - and everything is working, except the "dying flower". It's pathetic.
GEE, that looks incomplete without the music. Nice.Or blowing of a dandelion . . . . I love blowing a dandelion
