I am at the end of my rope here. I am homeless, car on it's last legs, and having to deal with all this with my soul mate nowhere in site. I'm no stranger to tragedy and losing everything. Over the years it's happened dozens of times. I am starting to lose hope here. Please help me Lord.

Roger, are you thanking God for your circumstances? And for those of your past? Do so right now. God has the right, if you are one of His children to allow into your life whatsoever He wishes, and it is all to bring us to the place of ultimate submission. Praying.
How can you be thankful you are homeless. Sure I can be thankful I am alive and have a van that wants to run halfway right. However, seriously how can you be greatful and happy and thankful when your life is falling apart?
Roger scripture says:
1 Thessalonians 5:18 New International Version (NIV)
18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
So we believe scripture or man? I am speaking to you as someone who has lost all in life including my 4 children who were alienated from me. Two are now dead. You have to make a stand as to whether you take God at His word no matter how things look.
So sorry for your situation. It is hard for someone like me to give you advice about trusting Lord while not experiencing what you have, but maybe you could meditate on these passages. In fact, ALL of Job might be helpful for you. Especially the ending.
