Hello everyone. I joined this site a very long time ago but wasn't really active. This site popped into my head and I am glad that it did. I am needing major prayer and I hope you all will be gracious and pray for me.

I have been dealing with major anxiety issues lately. Last year I was diagnosed with OCD, although I had it all of my life. It was at its absolute worst last year, but I managed to get through it by the grace of God. I thought that God completely healed me because I was doing so much better. But lately, I have been regressing back to my old ways and bad habits. For some reason the anxiety has been popping back up into my life this month and it has gotten pretty bad. It is to the point where I am very afraid of pretty much everything. If I don't stay busy, I start worrying and overthinking everything. I have many fears going through my head right now, and I think my brain is truly getting tired and worn out from all the stress and thinking.

I have been reading my Bible and praying about the situation, but for some reason I am having a very hard time with my faith. I am wondering if this is a test from God because if it is, I am truly failing this test right now. I am asking that you all pray that God builds my faith and that he gives me the strength to endure. Sometimes I feel selfish for asking for healing because I feel that God uses bad situations to make us stronger. But I do want you all to pray that God eventually frees me from this anxiety. Thank you!

Sometimes, when people have been saved all their life, God let's this anxiety come to remind you that you recently became a full-fledged adult and have not asked Him personally to be your Lord and savior. I think it's because you are now choosing your own life, no longer under your parents' rules, and He wants to make sure He's a part of it. That's how it was for me when I was near your age. If you have not, I recommend you do that. Like I say, it worked for me.

Praying for you.

Anxiety can be caused by many things. Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? Do you worship with a solid Christ led group of believers at Church?
Healing is not always Gods answer. At times God allows discomfort in our lives so that we will turn to and, draw closer to him.
I will pray that God gives you an extra measure of strength and wisdom to handle this. In the mean time you might seek out a good Christisn Counselor if you feel the need to.

Thanks for the prayers and comments, guys. I have accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. But I will be honest, I have not physically been to church in awhile. I am still searching for one that is closer to my location...I think I have a couple in mind that I want to go to in order to see if it is the church for me. Thank you for your prayers again. I will definitely look more into going to church because I honestly need to.

my friend i know the feeling you have about your mind being exhausted and stressed. like there is some kind of knot you wish you didn't have in your mind. as soon as i read your story i had sympathy for you, Honestly it sounds to me like you need gods peace and he may very well be allowing all this to happen so you will turn to him for it. here are some things from my book gods promises for every day life ahem... what to do when you are frantic and stressed- thats the actual titile of the page: Be joyful because you have hope(Jesus) be patient when trouble comes, and pray at all times.Romans12:12 you lord give true peace to those who depend on you, because they trust you. so, trust the lord always because he is our rock forever: Isaiah26:3-4

Sweetheart, OCD is a terrible thing to suffer from. :(
You have my sympathies!

It's that business of knowing your fears and anxieties are groundless (for the most part)
in your intellect, but yet in your thoughts they're still there.
Those obsessive worry thoughts you don't want to have, right? ♥

It may help to think about what has changed in your life since last year.
Why has this cropped up again, when it was better?
(it's often helpful to know what triggers those feelings)

It's very good that you're looking for a church. :)
And that you know grace was there, last year.
That same grace, from the same Source,
is available, and I know you know that.
So I pray for grace for you, at the Throne of Grace,
to receive mercy and help in time of need.

My 20 yo deals with this from time to time, and she pictures herself
sitting in her Abba's lap, being comforted and protected.
She memorized some simple verses ("when I am afraid, I will trust in You", for instance) [Psalm 56:3]
that she sings.
It's a spiritual battle...and the Lord fights for you. :)
'Just trust Him' can sound trite...but there's nothing more true; no better advice I can offer.
Stay in touch with Him through prayer, and music, and the Word.
He is always there with you, and for you. (Hebrews 13:5)

This problem can also be organic, in that stress can mess with neurochemistry,
and it needs to be rebalanced sometimes.
Pray about seeing a doc? :)

I'm seeking the Lord on your behalf, beloved of your Father! ♥

Perfect well said:]

Thanks once again for the responses! Just reading you all's responses are making me feel a lot better! Last year when I was dealing with it badly for about 4 months straight, I learned how to depend on God through prayer, Bible study, meditation, and positive music. Eventually, I started feeling so much better and was even helping others get through the same problems that I had. After awhile though, I did start slacking in my time with Him (especially when college started back up for the semester), and it actually got to the point where I wasn't reading the Bible at all for long periods of time. I think this is where I messed up because I was not spending enough time with Him...and my faith started lacking once again. Now I am here again dealing with the bad anxiety and stress. I think it is God trying to get me to come back to Him. It is certainly a wake up call for me.

Give yourself a break. Turn to Jesus, and read scripture about his love for you.

We have to start from where we are at. Not from where we judge ourselves from where we should be.

Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.

Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.

For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30)

I think He means it. :)
Just hang out with Him, and let Him love you...and give you r-e-s-t. ♥

God is waiting for you to repent and seek His great mercy, reading you bible is a good start, but if you heart isnt pure, and you are still in bondage to worry, fear anxiety, etc, then the word wont make sense to you, I know you may want God to just just make your life better, but He is waiting for you to do this if you havent already:

Jas 1:21 Therefore putting aside all filthiness and overflowing of evil, receive in meekness the implanted Word, which is able to save your souls.
Jas 1:22 But become doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

I don't know anyone that is a complete doer of the word. Learning the word and loving Jesus is a life long process.
These self ritious condeming posts are proof that we are all at different stages of our growth.

Nique is already clean and pure hearted because Nique accepted christ and from what I hear is more concerned withhis/her faith in god than anything else( sorry i do not know the genderLOL) Trust me Nique is on the right right path

Lol, yeah I am a female. But yes I repent on a daily basis and I truly am sincere when I repent. I am dealing with faith issues, but I am building it up. I think all believers go through times when they have to build their faith...sometimes this can be a lifelong process! But I am thankful that God is allowing me to begin learning this at a young age. Thank you all for your replies and prayers!

Unique, your willingness to share so openly shows me what a willing heart you have to please the lord in your daily life. What you are going thru seems to add more stress for your aniexity to build upon. I am so sorry for your suffering, I believe when one suffers we as your brothers & sisters suffer with you. That is why we will all be taking you to God high on his thrown where! All his wisdom, compassion, & , answers. Are there in his complete control. I. Pray he gives your comfort& peace. Take the time as I'm sure u have to pray & listen to some of the great verses you've heard on this site. Ask & you will receive, knock & it will be opended...... just remember your not alone, keep us all. Updated on how your doing & use our phyical & spiritual shoulders to lean on. The lord knows what your going thru & he shall never leave you where his grace cannot cover you...God bless you....."

You've gotten such great advice and prayers already, nique! And I'm really glad that you've decided to spend more time with you Father.

I do want to add some of my favorite verses, in case they help:

"You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You."
"Perfect peace" is such an awesome promise!

"The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
I must say that the "with thanksgiving" part is one I have to be extra-sure to remember. I'm praying for you too, by the way. :)

Setting all you ask for in Jesus's name before God, for all healing and God's glory.

Hugs and God bless:)
